TMG Horizon Road Race moves up a gear for 2014
Following 3 successful events since 2011, the TMG Horizon Road Race moves up to National B status for 2014 as the TMG Horizon Trophy.
“We’ve had some great feedback since we started,” explains organiser Neil Wass. “And back in 2011, we knew that demand for events like this was on the rise, but we couldn’t have anticipated by quite how much.”
There is still huge demand for events in the lower categories of 3 and 4 and a significant number of organisers have downgraded their event to cope with this, knowing that they will get a guaranteed full field.
This has its downside though: “I’ve been told by a number of local higher category riders that they struggle to get the race miles in to maintain their form. Whilst it’s great to have so many new riders coming in to the sport, the danger is it’s a dead end if we can’t offer the more challenging races. To build on this and keep the domestic sport on its growth curve, we obviously need a good race calendar at all levels, so we decided to do our bit to help.”
The TMG Horizon Trophy will be run over 143km on the lumpy Cublington Circuit in Buckinghamshire on June 29th. “We’ve seen some great racing here over the years,” says Neil. “But last year’s was a belter. Seeing the winner, Doug Coleman of CC Luton, overhaul Danny Axford of Arctic Tacx RT on the finish climb was a real crowd pleaser.”
Online entry is now open at www.ourcyclingteam.com using the RiderHQ system. Early entries will not be handicapped as entrants will be able to update their points tally as the season progresses to help with seeding.

I agree - I bet the guard doesn't get paid hugely so a gesture to show appreciation would probably go a long way....
I can't see what the big deal is, it's a well burnt bike - ashes of, and ?
That's a new low in marketing.
Disappointing to hear that....
I would dream of my non-assisted bicycle to have such low weight. It is a bicycle to drool over but this Urtopia bicycle must utopic price.
This must be one of the many "I insist on using cash in the parking meter" articles, usually based on the person being old and infirm and unable to...
Might have to expand on this one a bit fella as it's hard to unpick exactly what your point is.
Caad12 / 13's don't have udh, which doesn't seem like a big deal right now. But wait for it
