Specialized is on a roll producing some really good bikes and products at the moment, as reflected in our recent Bike of the Year Awards where the stunning Venge scooped Superbike of the Year. That’s a pricey bike though, so here’s one that’s much more affordable: the £2,350 Tarmac Disc Sport. It’s the cheapest Tarmac with disc brakes – watch the video above for a full run through of all the key details.

– Review: Specialized  S-Works Tarmac SL6

The latest Tarmac SL6 is one of the most improved race bikes launched in recent years. I was blown away by how good the range-topping S-Works model was, but it’s a huge sum of money so this new Tarmac Disc Sport looks to offer all the same key features but at a fraction of the price. You get a very smart carbon frame and fork with internal cable routing and a sensible external threaded bottom bracket, and 12mm thru-axles and flat mount brakes. It’s equipped with a Shimano 105 groupset providing mechanical gear changes and hydraulic disc brakes.

Will it be any good? Stay tuned for a full review very soon.
