1,2,3,4 and Chaves, but I feel a bit disappointed with the rest.
I had Bouhanni, DVP and Boeckmans who were nowhere.

I have had worse days though……. much worse.

    Trek are riding for Stuyven
Trek are riding for Stuyven so a lack of DVP won’t cost you. Wish I knew that before I decided to keep him!

I have Bouhanni too, but he may be a bit banged up from continually falling off his bike.

Think it is hard to predict
Think it is hard to predict today so bottled it and didn’t make any transfers. Keep the sprinters for tomorrow.

I do have Chaves and Rodriguez who might do something, but not much else (unless Sagan or Degenkolb fancy it).

    Might be something else
Might be something else entirely, but symptoms are very similar to my road bike. Slightly loose headset creaks (sounds like a click). Only notice it when out of the saddle. Tighten headset, problem goes a away for a few weeks then returns.

As it seemed to be linked with pedal stroke I thought it might be the crank, BB, pedals everything. It is the headset though.

    Having trouble entering teams
Having trouble entering teams tonight on the website which is struggling. Regretting not being organised earlier. I do remember the Giro problems earlier in the year and I should have known better. I can try again tomorrow.

Is it just me or are others struggling?

I sometimes read a few lines,
I sometimes read a few lines, but have never posted on a helmet thread. They are dull and no views are changed. As I don’t engage in the debate I don’t recognise myself on either ‘side’.

Creating a thread complaining about the ‘other sides’ bringing up of the the helmet topic to have a dig at them did make me smile this morning.

For most of this type of argument it is best to try and look in the mirror. Is what I am going to say likely to inflame or distract the debate. Probably best not to post if it is.

Crap threads die when nobody posts. I do wish that is what we all did with the stale topics – like the endless helmets do.

Shit, have a broken my own rule?

I have had a few great rides over the last fortnight. Mainly did variations of a West Cornwall loop taking in St Just and Zennor. Dropped down to Cape Cornwall today. Nice place to stop – bit of a leg burner back up.

Thanks to all who provided advice.

Except that I think that it’s fully subscribed (or at least it was announced as being so)

    No you can still enter.

I prefer Tour of the Tweeddale. Similar route, open roads (really quiet anyway) and the local cycling club run it.

No idea what to do for stage
No idea what to do for stage 8. Probably I will do very little and hope for intermediate sprint points and bank the transfers.

With the rate of broken bones and withdrawals they might come in handy.

I bought a T2 complete bike a few months ago on the cycle to work scheme. Came in nicely at the £1000 limit. I am very happy with it and used it for winter ‘training’ rides and I am commuting with it at the moment.

The spec, with Tiagra and basic but bombproof wheels, is probably right for the frame. Inexpensive stuff that will keep maintenance costs down. I am going to ride mine through wet, salt and grime.

If you want better spec, you mention Ultegra, then go 4s. Me, I now want a new shiny new bike for summer with any saving from going T2. I think that won’t come soon, but we can dream.
