Article on PCPs and their dangers. I was told I was being extreme when I mentioned this before.

    The financialisation of car consumption

    https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.1080/13563467.2023.2254727

“Car manufacturers have promoted PCPs to solve long-running problems in their business model related to the need to maintain a certain level of ongoing new car consumption to conform with path-dependent patterns of production. In doing so, they have partly exported their own financial risk onto consumers, leveraging what is widely construed as consumers’ material dependency on their vehicles for transport to do so.”

    It’s dangerous.

On the odd occasion I or a passenger have the natural experience of breaking wind within the boundaries of the travelling car.
In some instances the smell is so bad it’s near impossible to gain enough oxygen.
At 30MPH and the windows open is a live saver.
At 20MPH for some , it could possibly be fatal , ( taking much longer for fresh air to enter the car. “

I saw someone with small bullbars yesterday – surely that can’t be legal. There is no need for them and all they can do is injure the vulnerable road user.

I also see that bully xl is being used as an alternative to wankpanzer.

When I started off from home

When I started off from home the other day, 20 mph seemed reasonably quick but when you go from 30 to 20 it feels slow. Only I doubt it would take that long to get used to it.

It should also be noted that many roads haven’t changed

    https://pbs.twimg.com/media/F6aGfpRW4AAQaV4?format=jpg&name=small

This is the route that I drove this morning at 8am. I went through several villages with 20mph limits, I adhered, the approach and exit roads were 30 or 40mph. Parts of the B roads are 60mph. My journey time was 32mins. Before the new limits my journey time was 32mins.”

The last para makes no sense

The last para makes no sense

“Please be advised that, in order to access the Royal Mail car park, the route must be clear for you to drive straight in as waiting on either the road or pavement would place you in contravention of the restrictions.”

This would equally apply to anyone wanting to drive over a dropped kerb to their house and waiting for peds to clear the way.

Are they seriously suggesting drivers should go up and down until there are no peds ?
