I’ve looked before but never found anythign suitable, none seemed to have a long enough battery life.
The point about angle grinders is correct. Can’t remember if it was here I read it but the story went that a group of commuters got back to find their bike locks with superglue in them, so one got a taxi home whilst the others stood guard , then returned with the grinder to remove the locks.

I hope you’re right about it being perfect – I’m waiting on the black jacket. Are you still on course for the first week of January?

Why is that ?The obvious answer is that they cannot see you due to the reflection or they are only interested in the vehicle and how likely it will hit them or pass very close to them.

Rigorous enforcement sounds like heaven to someone trying to use UK roads, whether walking, cycling or driving.
Speed in itself is not dangerous, it is excessive speed for the circumstances that is the problem.
The other thing with strict limits is it encourages people to spend too much time looking at the speedo and not on the surrounds.October 18, 2018 at 2:26 pm in reply to: France considers compulsory motor vehicle-style ownership certificates #929465Hirsute

How difficult will it actually be to remove the number because “in a readable, indelible, permanent and unforgeable way in a clearly visible place” is just hyperbole.October 17, 2018 at 7:52 am in reply to: The rise of the Electric Vehicle – Cyclists new danger? #929265Hirsute
Ebikes are limited to 15mph in the UK.risoto wrote:The problem with electrical bikes is that passing cars expect the bike to go at a slower, normal, speed for a bike. Bikers riding electrical bikes have by far the highest death and injury incidence. They are dangerous.I almost killed a lady last year. I had overtaken her but when I had to make a left turn, in my car, half a mile later she was next to me whizzing by at 20 miles an hour while I had to slow down as I approached the shopping center. Luckily I am very careful when making turns so I could stop the car.
Which country are you refering to for your post?
20 mph speedo is hardly fast for a normal bike.

We have massive amounts of wind and tidal power in the UK that could be utilised with the political will.

They would get the message not to overtake but they may do anyhow making it worse for the cyclist.

Some useful observations from
Some useful observations from posters.
As cyclists though, we do try and police other people’s behaviour by taking the lane and trying to stop them hitting us at a pinch point.
I thought about it a bit when reviewing a close pass where a framae by frame view showed that it was very good that it was a van coming the other way and not a car, otherwise they would have lost their mirrors.
I think I’ll probably keep position and be prepared to brake rather than encouraging an overtake by moving to the kerb.
