    I bought a small, cheap

I bought a small, cheap ultrasonic cleaner for initial cleaning of my chain before applying wax, but I don’t bother with that these days and just use a bit of Squirt wax lube instead along with soapy water (car shampoo) when I’m cleaning my bike.

The ultrasonic cleaner (filled with some powerful degreaser) worked well enough, but I found that the extra effort wasn’t really worth the slight benefits.

The one that I intended to buy was around £25 from FleaBay, but they sent one that was the next size down that wouldn’t fit a cassette in it. I was going to send it back, but after they’d tried to offer me a discount (I refused) they just said that I could keep it and gave me a full refund, so I do consider it well worth the money.

Ultima Replenisher works really well for me, as it is low in sodium, but also has good amounts of potassium, calcium and magnesium. It is pretty expensive though, especially in the back pocket sized sachets.

Beyond that … choose from bananas, home made flapjack, occasional cold press fruit/nut bars for convenience and/or peanut butter/jam butties in bite size pieces. Also, anything above 100km a few chunks of Kendal Mint Cake for emergencies (much nicer than any brand of gel … although you can apparently get Kendal Mint Cake energy gels. Why would you do that to yourself?).

    Have you tried pickle juice?

(though maybe not so good for a low-sodium diet)

If there was enough room on the lane for the two cars to pull next to each other to have a chat, there’s probably enough room to get by. Most car drivers never seem able to manouvere their vehicles in tight spaces so there are always gaps.

However, if they were being inconsiderate and were that close I’d have just smashed through the middle taking a door mirror off each of them while effing and jeffing at them in a condscending voice

That’s not quite the attitude I was hoping for (though I may well have been guilty of similar attitudes in the past).

I think of it as the Alf Garnett problem – when does a caricature go too far and starts getting taken seriously? He makes a crack about a farmer’s market being diverse as it’s got all different types of white, male 50 year olds.

What I like about Clarkson is that most of the humour comes from laughing at him being stupid, impatient, bullish etc. I always thought of him as a caricature of an opinionated petrol-head (no disrespect to non-arsehole petrol-heads) on Top Gear, but it looks like some people thought of him as someone to look up to.

There’s less clowning around in Clarkson’s Farm though he’s obviously struggling with all the complexities of farming. He looked genuinely upset when three sheep were put down and he hadn’t had a chance to say good-bye to them.

I’ve heard that Clarkson’s Farm is very entertaining, so I’ve grabbed the series and intend watching it shortly (though I’ve got a long list of planned-to-watch series already). Though I’ve got a low opinion of Clarkson’s “opinions” in media, I do find him quite funny as a TV presenter and enjoyed his antics on Top Gear.

Edit: watched a few episodes and agree with 0-0.

    I’d go with yes.

    I’d go with yes.

Whilst the drivers may have been inconsiderate, they weren’t endangering anyone so I reckon let them have their chat for a few seconds, maybe up to a minute. I’d most likely have gone with a polite “excuse me, can I squeeze past?” as there’s nearly always room to get a bike through.

Compare your reaction/attitude to the same situation if a couple of people in a supermarket were chatting and had blocked an aisle with their trolleys.

Well, I’m impressed by the size of that room – are you royalty?

Not sure I approve of that bent top tube though – it almost looks like it should have joined with the dropped stays. As long as it’s fun to ride though

    It sounds like the wrong
It sounds like the wrong wheel to me or possibly the wrong cassette (e.g. 10 Vs 11 speed). I wouldn’t expect to have to totally redo the gears for a new wheel, usually just a minor adjustment to get it spot on. Also, centrelock and 6 bolts are different standards which means either getting the correct rotor/wheel or possibly using an adaptor.

I’ve only tried the Citrus flavour which is pleasant enough.

I don’t see how it would be successfully challenged if you provide both the raw footage and the post-processed version (for easier viewing). I guess this is largely a moot point as submitted footage is rarely contested in court.

    I’d be surprised if police

I’d be surprised if police can legally refuse to accept 360 footage of a crime just because it’s a different format. Maybe they could insist on getting the raw unprocessed footage if it’s going to court and the evidence is contested, but otherwise I can’t see why they wouldn’t act on a close pass etc (excepting any police force that wtjs may have dealings with).
