I liked this, the BID lay on free parking one Saturday afternoon, but drivers dutifully pay up anyway.
Cars aren’t going to solve your problems, guys.

Woman arrested after car
Woman arrested after car flips onto roof in Oxford crash
A spokesperson for the force said: “At around 3.30 this morning, officers attended Windmill Road, to the scene of a collision involving a single vehicle.
This was the second crash in the area in just one hour, as another car had crashed into Finders Keepers estate agents on London Road earlier.
The car could be seen lodged in the front of the storefront at the intersection with Windmill Road.
An anonymous eyewitness told the Oxford Mail that police were still at the scene of the first incident when the second occurred, and officers rushed over to Windmill Road straight away

Openreach under fire over
Openreach under fire over delays to Amesbury cabinet repairs
A driver crashed into a green cabinet near Amesbury fire station after 10pm on Tuesday, March 18, damaging vital technology.
Staff at Avon Lodge (vet’s) were left unable to answer the phone, access medical records or take payments because of the outage.
The practice initially hoped to reopen on March 31 – but now expects to be shut for all of next week because of uncertainty around the repairs.
An Avon Lodge spokesperson said: “We have had to make the unfortunate and difficult decision to keep our Amesbury branch closed for a further week due to the lack of clarity around when the repairs will be completed.

Many UK places have
Many UK places have pedestrianised the main shopping streets – the CBD in the American model I’ve attached, but it’s the Zone of Transition, called the Twilight Zone in my Geography studies that usually ends up bothering me the most.
Likely to be a bit tatty anyway (“cosmopolitan”, say the optimists ) , this area is worsened by being where the planners usually now funnel the motor traffic. In Bath’s case, the rows of parking along some of the finest Georgian streets anywhere plus all the driving is pretty grim.
