Fumin I am this morning. But
Fumin I am this morning. But no crashes. As well as another driver bailout in prospect (5p off fuel tax – Howard will be delighted I’m sure, but like Putin, whatever you give won’t be enough) it’s e-scooters – step forward the Kent Police & Crime Commissioner. I assume he has similar views on the private car experiment

Reliable, cheap and frequent
Reliable, cheap and frequent (I.e. planned) public transport and infra; consistently safe cycle infra. Attitudes to unecessary car use changing. Rolling back 50-60 years of hopeless car facilitation and prioritisation in favour of public transportansport and cycling. Road pricing or similar to really bring home (i.e. up-front) the cost of driving. Cars with the same tech as the e-scooters to limit their “performance”, i.e. impossible to speed and very difficult to get away with all the other forms of bad driving.

Yes, I’m the surly,
Yes, I’m the surly, unfriendly local, I guess. I also permit myself the occasional “buy that bike from a shop, did you?” under my breath.
One also has to be especially wary of drivers who are going the same way as the sportive riders.
I enjoyed the couple of local sportives I’ve done, but not enough to become a regular.

The relative rarity of
The relative rarity of meeting fellow cyclists powers the friendly greeting – if I find myself meeting a sportive it does wear a bit thin, I have to admit. .

Are you bikes identifiable
Are you bikes identifiable models? Mainstream Insurance companies seem to prefer that.
None of mine are, all are self-builds except my Raleigh Record Act but what am I going to get for a bike that hasn’t been made for 35 years?March 13, 2022 at 10:33 am in reply to: Car crashes into building – please post your Local news stories #965211

But drivers moan endlessly
But drivers moan endlessly when something IS done to stop car dependency setting in from the start with new developments – the area east of Wimborne between the A31 bypass and the B3078 is all subject to development at the moment and this is the site of the major new cyclepath from a few months back – Daily Mail and all that. Drivers suddenly gain an appreciation of what these things cost.
New estates like since the 1970s tend to have a limited number of connections to existing roads – which may be a cost thing, but is also designed to limit through traffic. They seemed better at connecting things up in the olden days, even if now these need to be retrofitted with planters.

The scene of the crime – does the car park next to the pub (l) have anything to do with it? Otherwise, seems to be a bit precision reversing through the gap in the railing.
