Land Rover driver finds rude note on windscreen but his reaction is priceless
Adam Chester found two messages on his Land Rover in Harborne
Far from being angry, Mr Chester, who describes himself as environmentally conscious, said he understood the mystery fly-poster’s view and was grateful no damage was done. The 46-year-old said: “I’m all for people having an opinion and being allowed to protest.
“The oceans are rising, climate change is worrying, we have to be aware but it needs to go higher up the chain. Is the government doing enough ?”

DP-2 – I’ll venture that this
DP-2 – I’ll venture that this costs more than…a pair of cheapey pedals. 100% niche.
“Have you finished servicing the only loose r/h pedal in our workshop, Brian? Another half hour? Darn, I’m right at the gear indexing stage – if only there were something I could screw in temporarily. That busted/cheapey pedal Brian, good call, mate but we lost the pedal spanner and the new one won’t be here until tomorrow…”
Hanger alignment tool could save you a lot of expensive grief particularly if your bike spends time in close company with other bikes when not riding.

Cornwall Council car parking
Cornwall Council car parking controversy continues as Callington traders say new £1 charge is ‘nail in the coffin’
Well, Cornwall, here’s the thing about this – you’ve got what leastways, at national level you voted for, you have returned 6 out of 6 Conservative MPs since 2015 and a majority (of those of who voted) opted for Brexit: i.e. a vote to be poorer yourself, your job likely to be less secure, less prospects generally and for there to be less money in the economy.
With Brexit, you voted for inflation and higher interest rates (after many years of abnormally low IR) so many things costing more, and you have both. Didn’t you used to have a big fishing industry? Putin added the energy crisis for good measure.
Anyway, you have voted for the local council to receive less from the centre – so Council Tax went up and now a whole lot more income has to come from service charges levied on you, such as for parking.
To get into the specifics, and it’s the same all over England of course, Cornwall Council raised just over £1.2bn revenue in 2017/18 and this has only slightly increased for 2022/23.But the make-up has changed: in 2017/18 fees & charges income was £225m and nearly half the total was from the Government: £544m. In 2022/23, just over half was from fees and services – £622m, and £86m from government.
Finally, let’s cross to Wellingborough, Northamptonshire the largest place I know of where town centre off-street parking is free (although its days are probably numbered now). Do we hear the sound of happy traders, of a retail boom town? Well not exactly…
How is Wellingborough town centre faring? We take a closer look at shop openings, closures and what the future holds
The town has changed significantly over the years, and in 2023 we took to the streets to analyse what it does well and what it needs to do better

Anger erupts over new parking charges at Devon beauty spot
The charity which runs the car park has said that the money collected will go towards conserving Torbay’s biodiversity and that their members go free
“Some commenters even said they would cover the automatic number plate recognition camera with a plastic bag or their own number plates to avoid the charge. Others even hinted at vandalism.”

Whatever the configuration of the 15 cyclists, on most roads, if you’ve got a whole bunch of oncoming, you aren’t going anywhere past them in a hurry. No cars/less cars = no problem/ less problem.
