Cars drive almost everyone
Cars drive almost everyone into transport poverty, one way or another.
Too poor? You don’t even get to play. Suck it up.
Low/middle income? Sacrifice too much of your money to sit in queues
middle income? sit in queues or wfh
high income – private jet/ helicopter or chauffeur while you sit in the queues you couldn’t avoid
to function at any level, the system relies on the poorest being completely exluded and then does next to nothing to help them

Victory for our great city’
Victory for our great city’ as clean air zones to be binned
More than 1,100 people signed the petition, which also opposed the introduction of the “15-minute-city”
yet here you are Council leader Jane Ashworth 5-6 years on doing nothing to protect your residents from pollution.
“The situation is fairly clear. Since 2018, when the Conservative Government told the city to clean up its pollution problems, there has been agreement that yes things need to change, and yes the decisions that are made and plans that are put forward need to come forward from within our city.
“Time after time, you will see a situation where something may be imposed by central Government that doesn’t quite get it in terms of the way life works and traffic flows in our city. It’s our intention to make sure that Government does not impose upon us a solution that doesn’t meet our needs.
“We are working frequently with external contractors, with people who understand better than we do, the issues around polution in our city and we’re trying to come up with something which says we do not need a CAZ (Clean Air Zone). What we need instead is some traffic changes around a specific area in Fenton.

Exeter man fears ‘silent assassin’ e-bikes in city centre
Mark Tyler, a former ITV Westcountry presenter, says he has narrowly missed being hit by an e-bike in Exeter on at least two occasions
“It’s down to us to ensure that we don’t step out unless we’re absolutely convinced that everything’s ok but sometimes you see a bike in the distance and before you know it, it’s on top of you.”

You could be forgiven for thinking that as the the headline has now been changed to:
Grieving pensioner fined outside Poundland on Gillingham Business Park as daughter lay dying in hospital

I sympathise with your situation but you cause yourself more upset by not moving on. I was fined for speeding through lack of concentration, after visiting my terminally ill mother and sister in two different wards of the same hospital. Obviously my mind was on other things but that was no defence. Not putting this behind you will sully your memories of your daughter.
