Red-light dodgers blamed as Stoke-on-Trent road to shut for six weeks. There have been plenty of rule-breakers around the roadworks

It’s worse than amazing that the various police forces haven’t worked out that if you refuse to punish persistent road traffic offences, then the offences become more common!

It’s not even June, and Christmas is cancelled – without notice!

Hereford BID fears Christmas parking could be cancelled

“The idea that this may no longer happen—without notice or a better alternative—feels like something is being taken away, not enhanced.

What do you have the do to
What do you have the do to get a life sentence?

A van driver who took at least 20 lines of cocaine before crashing into a tram, then hitting and killing a three-year-old girl with his vehicle, has been jailed.
    (12 years)

He ran away from the crash, after flagging down a taxi, and was arrested a day later following a manhunt by police.

The court heard he had a number of previous convictions, including being jailed in 2017 for three years for conspiracy to pervert the course of justice, after he torched a car involved in a fatal hit-and-run collision which killed a 25-year-old man, in Chorlton, Manchester.

Well there’s your answer – they *have to drive* – they have literally stated they have no choice – just like (insert totally inappropriate comparison to victims of some kind of slavery or persecution here). Don’t you know there isn’t another Asda, Dunelm or B&M for hundreds of miles or more?

Hundreds of shoppers want second Wolstanton Retail Park access as drivers fined

It comes as shoppers are stuck in queues

The current infrastructure continues to create daily problems for both residents and visitors to the retail park, making it increasingly difficult to enter or leave our homes and businesses.

Let me see if I’ve got this right : the opening of the Etruria Link (leading east from the Queensway roundabout) has made things worse, so you want another road to fix it?

And your idea for this second entrance is..?

Said one shopper, “We have to come, here, we have no choice, you see. Yesterday the traffic situation was so bad I had to wind my window down and use my phone to take a picture.”

I like how it has taken drivers so long to move that it’s got dark. Great timesaver, guys.

The road will be closed between Noblett Road and Ralph Drive. This is due to motorists failing to comply with temporary lights, which risks the safety of other road users, pedestrians, and staff. Please plan journeys in advance.”

It is a shame that everyone has to suffer because of the actions of a few, largely due to the failure of our society to deal with them. All too common in this country unfortunately. I would think ANPR and then just crush the vehicles of any miscreants would solve the problem very quickly.

It’s all bad luck.  Bad luck that there was a slope.  Bad luck that cars don’t just remember where they’re supposed to stay unless you apply the handbrake.  Bad luck she forgot to do so.  Bad luck she didn’t also leave it in gear that time.  Bad luck she was born forgetful…

Once you start looking at it this way … really one can’t hold anyone guilty of e.g. dangerous driving.  That’s really the product of bad luck (for the victim) and a kind of carelessness by the driver.  It would probably have been fine if only we had made it safe enough for them to act like that.  Quite often we have – and of course often drivers get away with it.  Then of course we can reduce carelessness as above … to bad luck!

It’s just bad luck we have mass motoring in the form we do…
