A new catch-all Tea Shop thread for those miscellaneous new stories that don’t quite fit with parking, crashing into buildings or trapped/prisoners in their homes.

Another example of the fashionable shyster lawyer tactic of converting the extremely guilty offender into a victim. It would have been pretty much the same outcome if he’d killed a cyclist, as we have seen so often on here

Sounds like a good case for increasing the level of punishment that the courts can impose.

    Driver banned for 9 months,
Driver banned for 9 months, 1k fine, 12 month community order, for killing a horse in a hit & run, the defence claimed no punishment the court could impose would come close to what the driver has been putting himself through…

Pretty sure you don’t need an MOT if you are just driving to and from a test centre. Maybe they are making use of this exemption

Aye! It’s tough for drivers  oop in t’North. In Lancashire, even the MOT testing garages can’t afford MOTs!

Is she one of these drivers

Is she one of these drivers that goes along A roads at 40 mph and applies the brakes every time she sees a tree or oncoming?

I don’t think there is enough
I don’t think there is enough sarcasm available to help explain to the good Mrs Hibbard how she might go about solving this local travel conundrum.

    “We are sick with worry.”

    “We are sick with worry.”

It’s tough facing a national disaster such as this, striking fear into hearts. Looks like the use of legs might be required in this clearly deprived area

    Villagers fear being ‘trapped

Villagers fear being ‘trapped in homes’ during major roadworks

We haven’t had a trapped in our homes story for a while:

“It’s a nightmarish thought as there are around 350 residents’ cars that need to use the diversion, quite apart from delivery, service and emergency vehicles. Many of us are afraid of being trapped in our homes or facing unmanageable traffic problems,” said Mrs Hibberd. “We are sick with worry.”

    Exact date when Paignton’s

Exact date when Paignton’s ring road will open again

A reminder from the article of the belly-aching when this started: “When work began on the road, businesses in Brixham warned that they were going to be “cut off” for the duration of the project, and local schools and colleges said their students would face long delays getting to and from their studies”

From what I can see, Brixham seems to have survived, and it hasn’t been the Seige of Paris 1870-71 after all.

Open in time for Easter, BTW.

Look LBH at this chaos you created by your ill-planned schemes. Massive congestion, more pollution, more accidents. “

How does the layout cause somebody to drive their car into the side of a massive red bus driving down a straight piece of road?”
