Running this one up the flagpole to see who salutes…

I just don’t remember this being a thing until recently, now it seems a daily occurrence.
Could it be that there are drivers not up to the job, too many cars; should houses be made to ride in single file, shops put on high viz, why are we putting newer buildings in danger like this, it’s irresponsible.

‘A Dorset Police spokesperson said: “Dorset Police was called at 12.48pm on Thursday, August 13, to a report of a collision involving a car and a wall outside Iceland on Poole Road in Bournemouth.

“It is reported that the vehicle was also in collision with a pedestrian, but they did not require medical treatment.” ‘

Aother video with people seeing something extraordinary happening, staring at it for a bit, then driving on / getting back on their phones.  Apparently not out of fear of what they might find there, just unconcerned…

Am I getting fuddy?  Will I soon be saying “back in my day everyone would have dropped what they were doing and rushed to the scene…” (and would my memory have betrayed me)?

The number of times you hear a bus <crunch> as it pulls alongside a bus stop and catches the kerb, it doesn’t surprise me that they sometimes take out the entire bus stop.

James “carbrain” Collins  who lived near the bus shelter, said: “It looked like the bus stop roof was too wide.”

He was not in favour of the shelter and added: “Do we need all these fancy bus stops? (turns out there were five Yorkshiremen!) It didn’t look attractive.

“It seems a waste of money to me because they’re every quarter of an hour to 20 minutes.”

Bus drives into the river at Eastleigh. Facebook comment –  “How?!?”

The driver of the college bus that drove into the River Itchen this morning has been branded a “hero” after he told an eyewitness that his “accelerator was jammed”.

Pedal confusion, perhaps? The brakes on that bus should be able to overcome the engine. And if it has a clutch, just push it in and let the engine rev away.

“if in doubt, both feet out” as no driver seems to be taught these days

I’m now waiting for “quick-thinking hero driver saves passengers … by driving through a wall to slow down on a bend when blinded by low sun”…

Does that mean “drink-driver given a driving ban” or does it mean that they cannot EVER travel on a road, even as a pedestrian?

Hopefully they’re not banned for life though – need to leave open the possibility of rehabilitation?

Again, the BBC’s language is desperately avoiding the driver having agency. “The vehicle flipped” rather than the far more accurate “the driver flipped the vehicle”.

whatever caused the car to flip presumably came out of nowhere?
