The Galibier GrandTour Pro Jacket offers excellent windproofing and good breathability, with great reflective panels for added visibility. It’s made from recycled materials and is a good value, versatile jacket, though the fit is off and only one colour is available.
Galibier describes the GrandTour as a three-season jacket, designed for temperatures of 6-16°C. I tend to run cold, but it surprised me with how warm it felt at the lower end of that range when paired with a long-sleeve base layer. It’s a solid option for autumn into winter and works well if you layer appropriately.
The main body and arms of the jacket are made from PressureWeave fabric which is designed to block wind and it does this very effectively. The back panel is more of a mesh-like fabric to help with breathability during harder efforts.

It’s not entirely waterproof, but will protect you from light showers, making it a great option for rides that are cold but not freezing or dry with the chance of rain – most of the days in the UK.

One touch I particularly like is the multicolour pattern that lines the front zip. It’s mostly hidden when the jacket is zipped up, except near the collar, but it adds a nice morale boost every time you put it on.
The jacket only comes in this light brown colour though, which wouldn’t be my first choice.
The materials are laser cut so there’s no hem or stitching at the collar, which makes it very comfortable there; and there are minimal seams elsewhere – most noticeably under the armpits, which helps to avoid one of the most common areas of discomfort.

At the back of the jacket there are three sizeable pockets and there’s also a zipped valuable chest pocket large enough to fit my iPhone 13.

There’s also a large reflective panel running down the middle of the back, across the middle pocket and details over the shoulders, which helps to boost visibility and confidence on the road.
Size and fit
The GrandTour Female Jacket comes in five sizes from XS to XL and I chose a size S based on the size guide and my usual size in cycling kit.
Galibier describes the fit of the jacket as standard, with the PressureWeave fabric designed to be unrestrictive, which I would agree with in parts.

I was particularly impressed with the fit and length of the sleeves, which is something I often struggle with. The sleeves are snug but not restrictive, with enough room to layer a long sleeve underneath.
The front of the jacket is cut short to suit an on-the-bike position, but when off the bike, the jacket finished at my belly button (I’m 175cm tall). This meant that I’ve had to be selective with which bib tights I pair it with to avoid fashion faux pas at the café.

At the back, the jacket features a drop tail which is designed to protect from road spray with a silicone gripper to help keep it in place. In practice though, there’s a lot of extra material that tends to bunch up, even with me at the upper end of the size according to the guide. This loose fit at the back did also mean that the contents of my pockets bounced around a bit too.
Value
At £79, the GrandTour Female Jacket offers excellent value, undercutting most of its competitors. In fact, the only other jackets we’ve reviewed in a similar price range are other products from Galibier, like the Mistral 5 Foul Weather Jacket, the latest version of which is £59.
> Conquer the cold and rain with one of the best cycling jackets
Gorewear’s Phantom Windstopper Jacket Womens has an RRP of £100 more and is a multi-functional jacket with removable sleeves. Suvi found it great for autumn and spring and as part of a winter layering system.
Castelli’s Perfetto RoS 2 W Jacket is also highly regarded as a versatile jacket with Gore-Tex Infinium Windstopper fabric, but again, its RRP is considerably more at £260.
Conclusion
Overall, this is a great-value, versatile layer that has served me well in autumn and winter, with excellent reflective panels, but the fit lets it down.
Verdict
A great value, versatile jacket with excellent reflective details, though a shame about the fit

My missus has the large in this and she tells me she is a 12 and great jacket. Not, but nearly as good as my Lusso paragon, as we like to buy local.
