See the Van Nicholas Astraeus at Cycle 2008

You saw it on road.cc first, but if you head along to next month's Cycle Show you can see the new Van Nicholas Astraeus in the flesh. As we reported from Eurobike the Astraeus is the world's first production hydro-formed titanium bike. Hydroforming the tubes means that Van Nicholas have been able to produce a bike with the sort of frame profiles never before seen in Titanium bike. The result is a bike that is both astonishingly stiff while still retaining the comfortable ride characteristics for which Ti bikes are known. This is a bike built to deliver your power to the back wheel as quickly as possible, when you get to the show check out the beefed up area behind the bottom bracket it's designed to minimise any flexing of the chainstays. One for sprinters, climbers and anyone who likes a bit of raw acceleration. This year's Cycle Show runs from the from the 10th -12th of October at Earls court in London. We will be there too, so come and say hello. road.cc users who book in advance at www.cycleshow.co.uk/STM (entering the code “STM” , so they know we sent you*) will get a fiver off the walk up on the day price (which is £14) giving you extra cash to spend in the retail zone. *To book by phone call 0844 848 0122
