Great cycling deals on shoes & pedals from Chain Reaction Cycles

Cycling retail giant Chain Reaction Cycles has sliced the price of pedals and shoes as part of their Summer Sale

Chain Reaction Cycles have wriggled their way into the road.cc offices, taken over the DealCatcher, and begun peddling excellent deals on pedals and road cycling shoes.

We're not complaining, though. Their deals are consistently fantastic, and today doesn't appear to be any different.

First up we have 60% and 55% off of pairs of Northwave and Shimano road cycling shoes.

Those deals are followed by three stellar deals on Look pedals. The KEO 2 Max, KEO Classic 2, and KEO Flex 2 pedals have seen discounts of 45%, 57% and, 38% respectively.

If you're after a new pair of shoes, or you fancy upgrading your pedals, you've come to the right place.

60% off Northwave Extreme Tech 3S Road Shoes
WAS £274.99 | NOW £109.99

Northwave gets things moving in today's DealCatcher. The Italian cycling gear manufacturer call their Extreme Tech 3S shoes "the stiffest and fastest road race shoe on the market."

While we're not in a position oto corroborate those claims, we can tell you that the ultralight carbon sole, ultralight microfibre stitchless upper and Extreme Air Footbed, certainly make for an incredibly light road shoe.

The 3-strap velcro closure should keep things snug and comfortable too.

For the price they're at over on Chain Reaction's website, they really are fantastic value.

We had a pair of Northwave Extreme Techs in for review a few years ago. The technology might have moved on slightly, but the overall vision hasn't changed. We liked them back then, even in their garish orange-green colour scheme.

55% off Shimano WR62 SPD Road Shoes
WAS £99.99 | NOW £44.99

Shimano WR62 Road SPD Shoe.png

Shimano's women's WR62 SPD road shoes aren't as performance oriented as the men's Northwave shoe above. That's not just clear from the anatomy of the shoe, it's clear in the price tag.

The WR62s are no slouch, and they're an excellently light, and heavy-duty road riding option; perfect for commutes and long distance rides.

A slightly more streamlined fit makes the WR62 perfect for female feet,  the carbon fibre composite plate gives the shoe a performance boost, and the tough, stretch-resistant synthetic leather and mesh upper give the shoe a sturdy, yet comfortable and light feel.

45% off Look KEO 2 Max Blade Road Pedals
WAS £109.99 | NOW £59.99

Look Keo 2 Max Blade Pedals.png

Saving weight is the name of Look's Keo 2 Max Blade pedals' game; and it's a game they apear to be winning.

The Keo 2 Max Blades use a fibreglass spring rather than a steel one to save you some of those precious grams.

They're a decent weight for their price, and have a wide platform that gives a stable interface between cleat and pedal; at least, that's what our esteemed reviewer Jez Ash, said when he gave them a road.cc 8/10.

57% off Look KEO Classic 2 Road Pedals
WAS £64.99 | NOW £27.99

Moving down the Look ladder of affordability, the KEO Classic 2s are entry-level road pedals.

Look call them lightweight and durable. The Classics consist of a bi-injected composite body that weighs in at 346g (for the pair), a dimpled bearing surface, and a large contact surface for high levels of pedaling comfort.

They also come with a two-year warrenty.

38% off Look KEP Flex 2 Road Pedals
WAS £39.99 | NOW £24.99

Finally, the most affordable of the KEO bunch, the Flex 2s combine the body and lever of the pedal into one single unit.

The chromoly spindle keeps the weight and cost of the pedal down. A pair of these pedals weigh 316g with cleats and screws included.

These are perfect for beginner clipless pedal users.

I've bought the northwave shoes before - these didn't last for me.  Seemed like good value at the time in a sale, but compared to the specialized shoes (more expensive yes) they turned out to be a false economy. .....back to wearing specialized now.
