New footage emerges of Tesco lorry that was stuck for 15 hours being rescued

And my favourite quote:
which surely translates as "I thought I wouldn't be able to do it, but thought I'd try anyway cos I'm a professional driver, innit"...
You have to wonder, watching the video, what idiot thought it was a good idea to take an articulated HGV down those streets...
I'm searching through the "rules" I have in my own mind for this thread and am flummoxed by this posting. Car crashes into...nothing at all, an empty beach, yet the idiot has still managed to overturn the wankpanzer.
He shouldn't drive there (on the footpath) either. The manoeuvre may have been misjudged, but the choice to drive on the pavement was entirely deliberate and unforced. Back to driving school.
Maybe it hit a sandcastle?
Going too fast and turning too sharply.
4x4s aren't always that stable, high centre of gravity.
And that looks like quite a narrow one...
Fell off the pier and washed ashore?
The article said lots of trucks are being driven through Montpelier to try and bypass the temporary traffic lights and road closure at the junction of Cheltenham Road and Ashley Road. So we can probably blame the driver's satnav... (and the driver for not having an ounce of common sense - "Well, the computer said I could go this way").

No licence, no insurance, using phone, possible alcohol, fled scene, etc.
Still, at least the punishment was proportionate and appropriate. Oh wait a minute...

Third time's a charm... Title - the car did it. Photo caption - the car did it. Opening sentence - ah, it was the driver after all!

Twitter thread has someone arguing that the lorry was 4.1m high but the ground was uneven so that's why it hit a 4.2m bridge.
Note the sign just above the rear of the lorry !

Two teenage girls aged 15 and 16 are being held in custody after a car reversed into a shop front.
Why are they being held responsible for the software of the autonomous vehicle?
Fumin I am this morning. But no crashes. As well as another driver bailout in prospect (5p off fuel tax - Howard will be delighted I'm sure, but like Putin, whatever you give won't be enough) it's e-scooters - step forward the Kent Police & Crime Commissioner. I assume he has similar views on the private car experiment

Our old friend, the Strood metal bollard is in the news again (for some reason). Sounds to me like it continues to do a very necessary job:
"It is there to stop vehicles mounting the pavement to protect pedestrians but it has been blamed for causing several accidents, including one involving Gary's son, Jonathan. He was on his way to work when his company car hit the bell, causing thousands of pounds of damage."

And while we're in Kent, further proof (I think) that cars.destroy.everything:
Vulnerable people in Rainham and Sittingbourne warned to stay indoors because of poor air quality
I seen this reported for a number of areas this week. Merseyside, Greater Manchester and Yorkshire seem bad for particulate matter for example. Yet on this snap, rural Herefordshire has a doesn't-quite-fit-the-narrative dose, and it's also quite bad out at sea.
Anyone know more?

Twitter followers will know of the "clown" incident with Adam Bronkhorst and Cllr Vinson, Dover's Portfolio Holder for Finance, Governance, Digital and Climate Change this week.
Anyway, the council leader is getting excitable now because Dover is "sacrificed" at times like this. Sometimes, the comments column gets it right: Dover voted for Brexit.
