Car crashes into building - please post your Local news stories

Running this one up the flagpole to see who salutes...

I just don't remember this being a thing until recently, now it seems a daily occurrence.
Could it be that there are drivers not up to the job, too many cars; should houses be made to ride in single file, shops put on high viz, why are we putting newer buildings in danger like this, it's irresponsible.

'A Dorset Police spokesperson said: "Dorset Police was called at 12.48pm on Thursday, August 13, to a report of a collision involving a car and a wall outside Iceland on Poole Road in Bournemouth.

"It is reported that the vehicle was also in collision with a pedestrian, but they did not require medical treatment." '

How on earth? Surely, driving down steps onto a pavement is below the standard of a competent driver?

Is that a phone in her left hand as it comes out of the window?

Why yes, I believe it is.  I hope someone got her permission before filming her

Those electric vehicles accelerate fast, and have very deliverable power all through the range.

As ktache says. Electric vehicles accelerate really quickly and if you're not used the it they can catch you out. I'm figuring that the driver has pulled out of Park Wynd and buried themselves in the building.

First suggested by HawkinsPeter, they should string cycle helmets along the wall opposite the mouth of Park Wynd.  I have it on good authority from Linda from Facebook that every little helps.

Good thought - I've often wondered why cars don't have ship propellors festooned around their sides to return the favour.  Presumably using bike tyres or even helmets would look too much like ... trophy-taking?

I quite like the idea of that. As it will demonstrate the efficacy of these articles of polystyrene when they seen crushed into oblivion and a hole still punched into the side of the building.

Obviously they should have thought before building it there... accident waiting for the cause of the accident to be invented and happen.

That's unfair.  The driver saw the hi-vis bridge, but no-one had thought to make his load hi-vis so he hadn't seen he was carrying it!  (Also it's lucky no other drivers crashed into the container while dazzled by the bridge).

Hertfordshire / Essex Police came and arrested the driver and then the Reach journalist p - it's clearly unacceptable that hard-working drivers should be

what me officer, no I was just saying how bad it is that twentysomethings driven by climate anxiety and a potential shitshow of a future should be causing disruption to all those funeral-bound and hospital appointment bound drivers on the M25.

Hmm, no easy access to vehicles anywhere near there so I wonder how long they were driving along the canal path before that happened. Still near the lost city and within the Tipton Triangle so all sorts of weirdness happens there.

Road past the Berkswell bridge today. It is barely high enough for an ordinary transit van. It is essentially a tunnel under the Birmingham New Street to Euston line and the road can't be lowered because of flooding. It has advanced warning signs and height measuring sensors s linked to automatic warning signs, and then it is plastered in high Viz. Still a driver always knows best, aye?

Edit: came across that this was a replacement for a level crossing installed in 2004, so is actually modern infrastructure - I vaguely remember it being built now I think back. I'm guessing there are quite a few 7' bridges around on that basis, must remember that when I've next got a bike rack on.

The Bilston Triangle. Dozens of reports over years of Audis, Volvo XCs, BMWs and Range Rovers disappearing inexplicably. You couldn't make it up.

The dumping of three cars in canals within a week could cost a charity around £30,000.

I don't doubt no. 7 is on there - it's a dastardly 7' bridge, single narrow lane, signal controlled and funneled in by downhill stretches from both sides. It's probably not higher because Berkswell is a properly sleepy village.

I normally only post articles where the word driver isn't mentioned. Sometimes it seems like the writers go out of their way to not mention a driver. This one is different; not only do they mention a driver, they blame them.
