Genesis equilibrium build teething problem

Hi. I would appreciate anyones help who is technically minded. I am attempting to build a Genesis Disc 2016 frameset up and have encountered a problem with fitting the disc brakes. The carbon fork has a post mount, and I have a post mount br785 shimano caliper, and rt81 160mm rotor and with the caliper mounted direct to the post mount on the fork, the pads are half on and half off the outside of the rotor. Any thoughts?

Thanks, Adam

What size rotors are they and are you using the 140 mm to 160 mm adaptor? Sounds like you're using the adaptor for larger discs but are running the smaller discs.

Without a picture it's difficult to take a stab at the answer Adam, but Shimano make a huge range of adaptors to assist with mounting callipers on the many designs of posts.  If all else fails send SJS Cycles an email describing the problem, preferably with photos, and they will promptly give their opinion.  Of course, they also sell the adaptors.

My "everyday" bike is also an Equilibrium (rim brakes) that I built up with Campag' Centaur about six years ago and it's been almost completely faultless.  It's a lovely, springy frame and I wouldn't swap it for a week in Majorca with Keira Knightly.  Oh, alright, maybe ......
