Womens World Cup

Thought I would get in there before someone starts a thread asking when it will be open.

I am working on things, but there is just no information coming from team or organisers. I've tried many times to get team details for the first race, the Boels Rental Ronde van Drenthe, on 15th March.

So it is currently looking doubtful at best. If that doesn't go ahead, I'll have to wait on Dave's decision, but I would pull the whole womens world cup and replace it with the womens Giro and Tour of Britain.

If you're new please join in and if you have questions pop them below and the forum regulars will answer as best we can.

Looking at my women's teams I see a few don't have proper icons. I can understand that gkam hasn't had time to paint a little icon for every team but it does make it impossible to see if any of my picks have become greyed out. Riders do tend to drop out a few hours after I pick them.

I must say that for the second women's race this season I'm disappointed to look through the ladies' startlist and not get so much as a whiff of Minge, although Spratt might make up for that.

The way to tell if they are in the startlist, go through a couple of pages to find them, if they are yellow...they are there. If they are not in the list, they are not starting.

I know what you mean though. Its not me who does those little pictures though and I have no control over them, sorry. I would have just stuck a nice place pink jersey for all those teams who don't have a jersey yet 3

But I was just thinking of a colour that 1, would show up the removal of a rider and 2, is not a jersey colour anyone else is using.

I could just draw a naked women onto a jersey I suppose

According to Twitter, there were 6 riders in the lead at halfway (62km) but the gap was less than a minute (40 secs-ish) so no bonus points today.

The team I had in doesn't seem to be the one that's been scored (not that it will make much difference!?). I think I made a bunch of changes well inside the deadline

Would be nice if ArmiTstead could have her name spelt right 3

Quite chuffed that I picked Johannson. All the Twitter stalking worked out!

I was pretty pleased with my performance with the women.

104 points!

Usually it's pretty shocking.

I was on Twitter checking out the #ddv hashtag and I saw Amy Pieters won the women's Dwars door Vlaanderen. I have to guess this race isn't part of the Women's World Cup, right? 39

It's not, no you're right. Here's the WWC;

....lets just say that didn't work because of my lack of language skills.

Why don't you put out a call on Twitter for someone to help you translating or talking directly to the organizers? Or tweet to a rider who speaks the language and is on one of the corresponding 'brother' teams for help? Who's the biggest budget team in this series? I'll help you out! 1 I love the fact you're so persistent! Don't give up! 1

that this would be a bit of a disaster

In fairness a couple of the races that are now in the game were disasters in their first year, races like the Tour de Med, Algarve and Catalunya have a history of shit information and late roster notifications, it just happens.

These races have also improved over the last couple of years to the point where we don't have the same sorts of issues with them.

Hopefully as the profile of women's racing grows these races will get their shit together and start to operate more professionally but in the mean time I'm happy that the game is in there now and set up to take advantage of the growing popularity of women's racing.

What do we want next then? Cyclo-cross...? 4

I can't believe the naked sexism with which I am confronted on this site. Keep your gender-delineated, phallus-hegemonic, colour-code apartheid to yourself thank you very much.

Red would show off their tits better.

So that's where they hide it. I was looking in women elite!

Still top though! The first game I've done well in since the Tour down under!

Would have had top 4 in GW and 6 if I hadn't made a last minute change but at the same time brought in Armistead for this one.

Shouldn't Sir Brad be in this race? After all he 'descends like a girl'.

I don't know why folk have to whinge in these forums. I have just spent an enjoyable hour selecting my teams with the help of www.procyclingstats.com. I ended up with a mixed bag of favourites and domestiques including our very own Lizzie A. My purist team is made up from the Low countries (local knowledge and all that 3 )
Many thanks to GKam, Dave et al
