FORUM's SCORUM's MINI LEAGUE 2014(Desert and Mediterranean legs)

Just a few points of business

1)The League we are using is the one with apostrophe's named Forum's Scorum's with an ID of 76157

2)As well as the standard competitions we will also have a UCI type ranking system(to be reffered to as FSUCI) based on pts assigned for stages and competitions as follows:

Grand Tour Overall:35,20,15,10,7,5,4,3,2,1
Grand Tour Purist Overall:10,6,3,2,1
Multi Stage Race Overall:10,6,3,2,1
Multi Stage Race Overall Purist:5,4,3,2,1
Autumn Classics/Spring Classics/Worlds/Commonwealths/Womens World Cup Overall Competitions(standard only):20,15,10,8,6,5,4,3,2,1
Every Stage(excluding TTT):3,2,1....ties will be broken by GC position within that competition and then within the game.
Queen Stage in Giro/TDF/Vuelta:10,8,6,4,2,1

I'll try and outline the points available for each competition prior to the start

3)CUT OFF TIMES

a)Teams must be entered into the league on stage 1 of a tour/multi stage competition to be considered for the GC in that race.

b)Teams must be entered by STAGE ONE of the SPRING CLASSICS to be considered for GC in the Overall Competition.

c)Teams will be considered for stage FSUCI ranking points for individual stages on the stage in which they enter......and FSUCI ranking points for competition GC from the first race that they are entered for AT STAGE ONE.

4) Below we will keep a record of the individual competition winners and add them to those of 2013

Twybados is correct though....he did indeed finish 2nd to JAndrewHill on the Doha Corniche stage of the Forum's Scorum's Tour of Qatar(andynic was third).

He also finished 4th on GC for that competition which was won from start to finish by Julie Danson 41

Wig_Billy successfully defended his FS ToQ purist crown from last season(must be something in the sand)!!

TOQ FINAL STANDINGS GC(plus FSUCI pts earned)

1)Julie Danson 10pts
2)naffets 6pts
3)the domestique 3pts
4)Twybados 2pts
5)SounDaz_7 1pt

PURIST DIVISION

1)Wig_Billy 5pts
2)the domestique 4pts
3)SounDaz_7 3pts
4)backflipbedlam 2pts
5)drheaton 1pt

Let's not forget the action over in the Forum's Scorum's Tour Med where the 2nd stage into Rousset also saw Wig_Billy in imperious form as he took the win ahead of cherrypicked and naffets.....and we still have cherrypicked in 1st AND 2nd on GC over there.

Big Moves in the FSUCI Rankings

1)silas chime,Julie Danson 16

=2)the domestique,Wig_Billy 12

4)stevemarks 11

You could set up a spreadsheet, copy in the totals and program it to take the previous total from the current total, fiddly but it should work.

In the absence of an export data as csv function on the website, I did the following:

Copy Stage 4 results of league into Excel
Copy stage 3 results of league into Excel
SORT both columns alphabetically
Subtract Stage 4 from Stage 3 to get stage result (assuming no new members)
Rank results of column
Filter to read 1st, second and third

Doing the following on today's results seems to agree to my hypothesis on the data, perhaps you would like to use that method 4 103 105

PS - Does the good doctor get points for 2nd and 3rd for his purist?

How do we get to see stage scores limited to the Forum Scorum league? I think I came second to JAndrewHill today.

I normally click on the forum's scorum's league and then click on the total score and it gives you last stage score for each individual(only one at a time though)....so I'd be interested if anyone has a better way to do this too!!

Of course, i had to go swap that useless Frenchie Demare for the Gorilla, didn't I ... 102

And as for the Med ... 27 points for stage 2. 36

As you can probably see livestrongnick won stage 5 of the Forum's Tour of Qatar with a Sagan-esque early celebration before th results even went up!
naffets finished 2nd and that put him back into 2nd spot in the FSTOQ overall behind long term leader Julie Danson whilst space cowboy just pipped the Guv'nor Dave Atkinson to the final podium spot on GC countback.

I'd say anyone of three could win that race because the domestique is still in there.

The opening day of racing in Europe saw a great day for cherrypicked as his standard and purist closed out the top 2 places on the podium leading home both of adholman's teams.

A photofinish in Stage 4 of the Forum's Scorum's saw adholman pip silas chime at the line(both scored 179pts but adholman is higher in the race GC)....cherrypicked (172pts) picked up his second podium place in a row.

Julie Danson probably thought a very good 160pts would put this race to bed but it was a high scoring stage and in fact the domestique9169pts) took closer order into 2nd over naffets.

Wig_Billy leads the purists by more than 50pts(although no Greipel?)

With 10 FSUCI ranking points for a stage race overall win it's quite possible that Julie Danson will be eyeing the No1 ranking by the end of Qatar as she is only 8 pts behind silas chime although stevemarks and the domestique may be eyeing the same target?

drheaton 170pts took the short time trial in the Forum's Scorum's Tour of Qatar pipping jonas lorenzen (165pts) and cherrypicked (161pts).

Julie Danson retains the Gold Jersey in the race and the domestique has a 100+ pt lead in the season overall

Nice work debbieg.....that 3rd place on the stage will put you on the FSUCI rankings table 36
Not enough to beat the early pacesetters in the TOQ though....stage winner Julie Danson won at a canter from the domestique(still No1 in the season overall) and yourself.

Time to get your elbows sharpened and skinsuits on as we move into Qatar.....and the humps on the camels at the racetrack are the only bumps we'll see.Can the short TT specialists put enough time into the likes of Greipel and Viviani to win the overall....remember Cav took the title last season(and enrique won the Forum's Scorum's!!)
