Whether you ride the “Full Manc” (100 miles & well over 7000ft of climbing) or the “Half Manc” (100km and around 4000ft of climbing), you can expect a tough, but an enjoyable ride. Expect varied terrain as you skirt Manchester, cross Cheshire, skirt the edge of the Peak District, the slopes of the Pennines and the rolling hills of North Manchester. Expect to see some amazing scenery and hidden gems and enjoy great camaraderie.
We will supply drink stops with energy gels, energy drinks (our sports drinks and gels are supplied by SIS), energy rich food, we will have mechanic stations and first aid cover.
It's a long day and post ride, as well as your finisher’s medal, we will provide free hot drinks, baked goods, complimentary massages to help with your weary legs and some free photos of your ride ….there’s one or two other surprises in a goodie bag as well.
Whilst you ride, your families can enjoy a free day pass to the VirginActive Lancashire Club – swimming pools, steam room, sauna, gym, classes, restaurant and more. And when you finish the ride, you are welcome to go there and use the facilities too.
Two great causes will share the Tour de Manc proceeds: The HaTS charity, (www.hatsupport.co.uk) supporting cancer patients and their families at The Christie Hospital’s Haematology and Transplant Unit and Forever Manchester, (www.forevermanchester.com) funding and supporting thousands of community projects across Greater Manchester.
You can also raise funds by getting sponsored on your ride. You can point your supporters to either the HaTS charity Mydonate page or the Forever Manchester Donate facility. The link addresses are below:
