Three-time Tour de France winner Greg LeMond has appeared in a video showing how to quickly change and inflate an inner tube, which is in direct response to a similar video featuring Lance Armstrong recently.
You wait ages for former pros to show how to change an inner tube and two come along at once.
If you missed the Lance Armstrong video, you can watch it here.

Most folding tyres (i.e. non-wire beaded) tyres can be changed without using tools. I have Gatorskins on my SS commuter and levers are not necessary at all…
What’s this sudden mania for
What’s this sudden mania for having people who spent their entire lives having their tubbie wheels changed by a professional mechanic while they look on showing us how to change a tube?
What made the Lance video
What made the Lance video amusing was the irony of former champ reduced to bike shop mechanic, a deliberate acknowledgement of his change in fortunes. Those who have only watched the video should also read the accompanying article from Outside magazine about the background

This just seems a cheap shot in the everlasting Lance Vs LeMond feud. Take it outside, guys….
I think your missing the
I think your missing the point. Many people feel LA does not deserve forgiveness because he hasn’t actually apologised. He only gave in to the story when there was no other way out. Armstrong does not deserve any platform to further his celebrity status or to try and improve his image. The guy still believes he didn’t do anything wrong. He ruined people in the sport and he gave a fraudulent story to cancer sufferers to idolise. He is a massive loser and LeMond is a massive Legend.

So if LeMond is such a legend, why is he lowering himself to these cheap shots? As was stated above: “take it outside”. Move on.
Surely Lance should be
Surely Lance should be showing us how quickly he can change an underarm bulb of piss, and Greg should be showing us how quickly he can change his shorts?

Really? That’d be just peachy.
I like the picture at the top
I like the picture at the top of the article. It looks like Greg’s technique involves eyeballing the wheel and praying to the puncture gods…
KA-blam! It’s fixed.

Nice response to the equally good Lance vid.
Nerd point – VO2max is the wrong parameter to quote in regards to ability to blow up a tyre – TLC is more relevant. VO2max is dependent on far more than just having big lungs, although it certainly helps. A VO2max of 92 *is* enormous, mind you.

Random mechanic testing might need to be introduced.
Nice one Greg, good banter.

While a expect to get shot
While a expect to get shot down I think the L.A hate a bit too much. Yes drug cheats are wrong, thought I qualify this by the question, when L.A won’t the tour was he playing on a level playing field by taking drugs? I would also ask why other drug cheats are still admired and no one sees that as a problem , Coppi (speed), Simpson (speed and alcohol), Merckx positive test 1967 Giro, Mosser when training for hour record, Kelly had corticode injection, Chiappucci, Roach implicated in EPO 1993, Pantani, LeBlanc, the list goes on and on and on. I’m not fed ending any of them but why does Lance get the stick while others are still heroes? Is it because he set up a cancer charity that did and does still do good or is it because he survived cancer and inspired millions of patient, who benefitted from that inspiration even if it was a lie? Can any of the Lance hate gang explain why he is treated differently? Genuine question.
‘the lance hate gang’?
‘the lance hate gang’? really? ffs.
and why would anyone hate anyone because they set up a charity?
That’s just a bizarre thought process. And no, he wasn’t on a level playing field. Read up on that a little.
The drug cheating thing, for me certainly, is the minor part of it. The perjury, slander, intimidation, ruining of others’ lives…that’s the side of it which really stinks. Simple ‘cheating’ can be forgiven, on the whole. Stamping all over anyone who gets in your way, that’s a different thing altogether.

Exactly what I wanted to say.
For those saying LeMond should grow up/be the bigger man, or that this is a cheap shot, he more so than many was victim to Lance’s bullying and intimidation. His much loved bike brand was shut down by Trek solely due to pressure from Lance because LeMond dared to be honest with the press about Lance’s relationship with Michele Ferrari (the gentleman largely responsible for Lance’s doping program).

he’s is from the USA that’s what they do if your small or poor you get squished its capitalism , you can’t condemn him for his national culture! :^o
Of course, nobody could match
Of course, nobody could match the controlling evil of Lance. However, I’m far form convinced that Greg is a perfect angel. Just read this pre epo scandal Sports Illustrated article on Greg and search for “iron”:
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/cycling/1998/tourdefrance/tourdefrancearchive/tour2.html
It’s weird. My take is he figures he may have been used as an EPO guinea pig and is trying to hedge against his morality by half explaining it. I don’t hold anything against Greg for this, but I think the video is kind of bitchy, considering.
Yeah it was good wasn’t it
