Serotta were at Eurobike with their usual crop of lovely looking custom-built bikes – Titanium, Carbon and a bit of both – but most interesting was their new Meivici AE time trial machine. Serotta have been wanting to make a monocoque TT bike for some time, but every bike is custom fitted and it’s just not viable to make a new mould for every customer. The solution they’ve come up with is to split the bike frame into sections, and create a number of moulds for each bit. When you’re measured for your frame Serotta will pic the bits you need and bond them into a frame – each section has male and female connectors that fit snugly together. You end up with a custom TT frame that looks like a monocoque, but fitted exactly for you. It’s a very interesting take on the TT frame and Serotta reckon the first finished frames will be shipped by the end of the year. The display frame showed that they’ve still got a little bit of work to do hiding the joins, but the initial impression is of a single piece carbon bike and you have to look pretty hard to see the junctions.
Where the jigsaw fits together. As you can see, the show bike has fairly visible joins in some places but we were assured that you’d barely be able to see the junctions on the production frames. Indeed, the junction above the bottom bracket was almost invisible, the fracture in the carbon weave being the only giveaway.

When was the last time did elite male and female marathon runners complain about the lack of diversity in their sport? Whoever pretends to become a pro cyclist must have power, endurance, stamina, self-confidence. And more. Race and faith don't intefere with data and results. American wokeism is the last thing the women's pro peloton needs at the moment. Instead, live broadcasting, TV rights and sponsors are most welcome.
If by 'positive' you mean 'loosing strays at undeserving commenters and then doubling down on it', no - sorry to disappoint.
Not sure why that's a relevant question though - I as far as I can see, nobody has suggested any kind of 'quota' system - they're simply talking about removing barriers so that those of equal ability have equal opportunity. Do that, and equal representation will more or less take care of itself anyway.
Regarding the lack of diversity in the femmes, yes there should absolutely be equal opportunities for all regardless of ethnicity, but (as with all equality arguments) this should absolutely not be at the cost of ability and achievement. Having equal representation for all ethnicities is totally unfair for the riders who earn their place. Equal opportunity is not the same as equal representation.
@chrisonabike All the political parties are populist - they don't exist to serve their community/area/country, they exist to serve themselves and their party. There's a word I'd use to cover them all beginning with c but I won't spell it out here.
Keep up the good work Jack
The HSE has undoubtedly reduced injuries in the work place. Why shouldn't some of the principals / evidence they've gathered in achieving this be run out to the public. It's really just common sense.
"If London can do it, Exeter can too" While ignoring that London would now have the cycle path having priority OR install traffic lights requiring drivers regularly stop. They pretty much never require the cycle path give way to cars on a parallel carriageway now. Something to do with the idea that drivers know they are crossing the cycle path and the most common case is them approaching from behind at higher speeds than the majority of cyclists can achieve...
@lemonenema Sorry about that and thanks for the spot... fixed!
@mdavidford "Hmm – the way you’ve edited your post to tone down the suggestion that they were saying something they weren’t suggests even you don’t believe that." Nope, and tbh, I couldn't care less about what you think. Anything positive to add? Nope! just your usual nonsense, so bore off.
