We know you’re not shy of offering up opinions, dear road.cc readers. And we always want to know what you think of the site, and what we could do to improve it. To that end, we’re asking you to fill in our 2020 user survey. It’ll take a bit of your time, so to sweeten the pill we’ll pick four readers at random once we’ve collected the results, and each will win a £250 Rapha voucher. Deal?
It’s been a couple of years since we ran a full user survey, so help us out by tellling all about what you think of the site: what works for you and what doesn’t. There are plenty of questions about us, of course, and also plenty of questions about you: what kind of cyclist you are, what you like doing, where you sit in the grand old road.cc demographic, and more. The survey helps us to build a picture of the readership and what you think of the site, so please help us by filling it out, and please be honest! We appreciate constructive criticism. Really.
We don’t share individual responses with anyone, only the aggregated data. We will ask you for an email address, but that’s only so that if we pick you as a winner of a £250 Rapha voucher we can email you and let you know. It won’t be used for anything else.
You can fill out the user survey at https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/roadcc2020

That’ll teach ’em ?
Surprised to see in the list
Surprised to see in the list of “What type of cyclist would you describe yourself as?” options (commuter, tourer etc) “MAMIL” – are we using the terms others use to insult us to describe ourselves now?
Is that not standard practice
Is that not standard practice among us repressed minorities?

Hold up, so ‘MAMIL’ is supposed to be an insult? I thought it was an aspiration

As in the old quote about poets, it’s not a description, it’s a diagnosis (I speak as a chronic sufferer).

Pretty sure that Sir Alan Lordsugar has described himself as a MAMIL previously.
I actually liked the option to describe myself as ‘some or all of those at different times’ – isn’t that what it’s about?

only a handful of clothing brands, half of them out of my price range/level of interest/ number of Xs required to fit, to be rated in detail for for functionality, heritage, etc. Gave up on most of that one.
I hope they’re sitting there with a riddle of a response from me – owns 5+ bikes, but hasn’t bought one (and doesn’t plan to) in 15 years.
Given the volume of negative
Given the volume of negative comments that every article remotely connected with Rapha seems to attract, the odds of winning this prize must be relatively high because one can only assume all of those naysayers will be abstaining.

Well a good chunk of the criticisms are around price, which isn’t really an issue when it’s free.
And for the rest, there’s always ebay.
That’s an entirely
That’s an entirely understandable view to have if Rapha was the only cycling clothing on offer and you therefore had to purchase it. That’s not the case though and price is entirely subjective so why anyone feels the need to moan about their products being more expensive than some competitors is beyond me. It’s a free market; just don’t buy something if you feel it’s not worth the price and let others buy it if they consider it to be good value.

Uh – I wasn’t expressing a view. Never had any Rapha kit, so can’t form one. I’m just pointing out that for the many people who do think it’s too expensive, that objection is moot when they don’t have to pay for it.
