A long time coming for fans of the budget-friendly but high performing suspension components, Marzocchi has introduced an air shock to its range. At first glance, it looks like a traditional piggy-back equipped shock but there’s one key difference… Its reservoir is wonky.

The elephant in the room is that asymmetric reservoir and the reason it’s been done is that it allows for a better fit in a greater range of frames while allowing easy access to its adjustments. It’s a large volume reservoir too that increases oi flow and volume, which offers more consistent performance during prolonged descents.

On the subject of adjustments, the Bomber Air is kitted with Marzocchi’s 2-position, non-indexed sweep compression adjustment, and a rebound dial.

It’s rated to DH standards and is available in an impressive range of sizes, being able to fit in little dirt jump frames, right through to downhill bikes. And as we’ve seen with some other Marzocchi products, the Bomber Air doesn’t use any Fox kit, opting for internals that are unique to Marzocchi with the aim of combining a lively feel and a confidence-inspiring characteristic with the brand’s known durability.

The Bomber Air is compatible with travel-reducing spacers as well as air volume spacers with the latter available in 0.1 C.l. increments. It comes with stroke lengths from 40 to 75mm, Trunnion and standard eyelet options and it’s compatible with Fox bearing mounts.

The new Marzocchi Bomber Air will set you back £529.
