Police have named a cyclist who died earlier this month from injuries sustained in a collision in Leicester as French national, Anaïs Thouvenot.

The 22-year-old from the Lorraine region of north east France worked as a foreign language teaching assistant at Perryfields High School in the Sandwell district of Birmingham.

She died at the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham on Sunday 16 November, a week after she was involved in a crash with a black Honda Civic in Leicester.

Leicestershire Police have appealed for witnesses to the collision, which happened at the junction of Regent Road and Upper King Street at around 5.50pm on Sunday 9 November, to come forward.
