In what has become one of the annual staples of the cycling year, the latest edition of the Cyclepassion calendar is now on sale seeing, as the publishers put it, “a select group of elite women cyclists leave behind their world of mud, sweat, blood and pain to slip into something a little more comfortable.”

Now in its sixth year, the 40 x 68cm calendar gives you the opportunity to “see what happens when eight professional cyclists trade in their Lycra for latex, lace and leather,” and can be ordered online here for €36 plus postage and packing.

The riders featured in the 2011 edition are Germany’s Hanka Kupfernagel and Mona Eiberweiser, the Americans Willow Koerber, Heather Irmiger and Liz Hatch, France’s Julie Krasniak, the Swede Veronica Andreasson and Switzerland’s Fabienne Heinzmann.

For €49, also plus postage and packing, you can buy the calendar plus a behind-the-scenes DVD, Eyes Wide Open, shot by Markus Neuert of Cyclefilm, which promises “an intimate look behind the scenes of each photo shoot and find out what life off the bike is like for each rider.”

The DVD is also available on its own from Cyclefilm at £15.99 plus postage and packing.

Judging by the  trailers below, the video, which also recounts the history of the calendar through interviews with founder Anke Wilken and photographer Daniel Geiger, is something that may well end up on the Christmas wishlist of many a young male cycling fan.

In the interests of marital harmony, however, it’s perhaps not one that the married men amongst us should ask the wife to slip in as a stocking filler, as it were.
