Pinarello has launched its new Dogma X “all-road performance bike” with a host of updates, although complete bikes are far from cheap, starting at £12,500.

Pinarello announced the original Dogma X back in 2023 and we were impressed by the model we reviewed here on road.cc.
Reviewer Aaron Borrill said, “Featuring slightly relaxed angles and room for 35mm tyres, the Dogma X is the most comfortable bike I’ve ever ridden – but by comfortable I do not mean slow. It’s fast on the flats, composed on the descents and no slouch when the road points up either. The Dogma X proves that fast and fun doesn’t necessarily have to come in the raciest of packages.”

The most eye-catching feature first time around was the X Stays design, intended to reinforce lateral stiffness without interfering with vertical compliance.
Aaron said, “Whether or not you can actually feel this is up for debate but the bike certainly has a buttery-smooth ride quality.”
Either way, the X Stays have now been redesigned.

In a white paper accompanying the launch, Pinarello says, “The lower attachment point and refined geometry further enhance the benefits of our double-arm four-point top-stays design. The new configuration disperses road vibrations more efficiently through the four connection points while the lower linkage minimises rebound, delivering a smoother, more controlled ride.”
The Dogma X is now made from the same Torayca M40X carbon fibre that Pinarello uses for the Dogma F that’s raced at the highest level by Netcompany Ineos.

Pinarello says, “Our aerodynamic head tube ‘nose’, introduced first on the Dogma F8 in 2014, is always evolving. The most recent iteration reduces the volume and width of this leading edge, offering a more streamlined design to improve the frontal area efficiency.
“Reducing the frontal width required a complete redesign of the head tube. We developed the innovative elliptical shape which incorporates a completely new headset with differentiated bearings that are wider at the bottom and narrower at the top.

“The new narrower and tapered down tube enhances aerodynamic performance while increasing lateral stiffness. The result is a bike that’s more reactive on climbs, and faster on flats and descents – combining efficiency, power, and control in every condition.”
As previously, you get enough space to fit 35mm tyres – enough for rough and broken tarmac – while a new dual-mount system ensures the frame is fully compatible with SRAM UDH.

Who is the new Dogma X aimed at?
Pinarello president Fausto Pinarello says, “It’s a bike built for riders who understand that true performance is measured by the ability to sustain their position and power across a range of distances and terrain.”
The Dogma X comes in 11 sizes – Pinarello always offers plenty – and a variety of colourways and builds. It’ll also be available on Pinarello’s MyWay platform from 24th July, allowing you to customise a paint scheme.

The range includes top-end groupsets from Shimano, SRAM and Campagnolo, along with Campagnolo Bora WTO 4S, DT Swiss ERC 1100 and Princeton Grit 4540 wheelsets. The idea is that the Dogma X is as high-end as a top road race bike, but capable of tackling the dodgy road surfaces that most of us experience on day-to-day rides.
The Dogma X frame is £5,500, with full build options starting at £12,500.
