For 2026, road.cc is launching a video version of the road.cc Podcast to bring you a little bit closer to the fabulous guests that we chat to.
We don’t want to blow our own trumpet too much, but regular listeners of the podcast will know that we’ve had some big guests on in 2025, and this got us thinking: how can we make things better for you all next year?
Well, besides committing more of Ryan’s time to the planning stage, we’ve decided to make a video version of select episodes. It’ll allow you to see our guests, which often helps add nuance to the point they’re making, but it’s also very helpful for allowing you to see their personality, something which is often hidden behind a helmet and sunglasses.
The vodcasts will live on the road.cc YouTube channel, nestled among our regular videos. We’ve also made a specific Pedal Powered Podcast playlist, so if you only want the vodcasts, head that way.
While we’d love to make every podcast episode in a video version too, this sometimes isn’t possible, as we interview most of our guests remotely. It’s just an annoying reality of creating content, but wherever it’s possible, we’ll be providing the pod in video form from here on in.
This means the vodcasts will largely be sporadic in nature to start with, but there is a good reason for this. We’d rather produce videos when there is a genuinely interesting topic to cover, rather than scheduling content simply to please a spreadsheet or calendar.
The first episode is live now, so why not go and give it a watch.

A word from Ryan, the host of the road.cc Podcast:
After 120-odd episodes of audio-only goodness (and the occasional waffle) on the road.cc Podcast, some bright spark in the office recently came up with the revolutionary idea of hitting ‘record’ on the video function, too (apparently all the cool cycling podcaster kids are doing it these days).
Which means that, from now on, as well as simply listening to my dulcet Ulster tones, you can now fire up the ol’ YouTube and gawp at me, Jack, Dan, Emily, and our fantastic array of guests from around the cycling world as we converse over a dodgy internet connection.
So, basically it’ll be just like the normal road.cc Podcast, but with our cameras switched on. Exciting, I know.
And what’s more, the brand-new road.cc Vodcast will also offer you the opportunity to keep tabs on our haircut routines, take a peek at pro cyclists’ kitchens, and have a nosey at my bookshelf. If that’s your kind of thing. You big weirdo.
Anyway, I’m sure it’ll be great. Happy Christmas, and I suppose I’ll see you on YouTube in the New Year. Well, I won’t actually be seeing you, but you know what I mean…
