A Sussex cyclist who was airlifted to hospital in London this morning after being struck by a lorry has died from the injuries he sustained in the incident, which happened shortly after 7am on the A259 De La Warr Road in Bexhill.
The Argus, which stated that the cyclist was an adult male, reports that a man was taken into police custody for failure to stop, although there was no confirmation of whether he was the driver of the lorry involved in the incident.
A statement from Sussex Police confirmed that De La Warr Road had been closed between Brett Road and King Offa Way, and anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Sussex Police on 101, quoting serial 173 of 12/4.
