Petition asks government to "act on safeguarding children" over "event in public where people expose themselves" — the campaign in the press since a man who called World Naked Bike Ride cyclist a "pervert" and punched him off his bike was spared jail
The petition, which was shared this week by the Isle of Man’s “feel-good radio station”, claims cyclists “cause a backlog of traffic” and “increase risk of collisions” on the famous road
Petition had fewer than 100 signatures when radio station shared it online, the campaign suggesting cyclists should stick to the coast road "without interfering with primary traffic"
The governing body says the changes were made following “extensive consultation” with riders, teams, and organisers, and claims the unpopular 40cm bar rule will allow “all athletes” to compete on “high-performance and safe” equipment
Critics argue limiting all riders to 40cm bars "does not account for variety in body types" and may "inadvertently place riders at risk of injury"
“They are polluting, not environmentally friendly, and cyclists who are already on their limits have to inhale the toxic smoke they make,” the fan behind the petition said
