The Prestacycle TorqRatchet Elite Lite is a slightly smaller, lighter and more capable update of the old Elite. Coming in a well-presented wallet with twelve bits, it’s an easily pocketable multitool that will make sure you never overtighten your fastenings. It’s not the cheapest, though.
The 2-12Nm range (up from 2-10Nm on the old, weirdly hard to track down Elite) means this is good for everything from the smallest fixing up to a Shimano Hollowtech II crank arm. What’s more, the handle and ratchet mechanism is good for up to 30Nm of brutality, should you need to remove or tighten a pedal, through-axle or other large fastener.

In function and form the Elite Lite is identical to the discontinued Feedback Sports Range tool I reviewed in 2024 – except it’s 2-12Nm, not 2-10Nm. That extra 2Nm at the upper end is a genuine bonus though, as there are more things on your bike needing 12Nm than 2Nm. Notably those through-axles, which are now pretty much universal on any bike not sold in a supermarket, and pretty commonly 12Nm.
The party trick of this design is that you engage the torque measurement by holding the ‘lollipop’ bit at the end, meaning you can avoid it and just hold the body itself. Both the body and the head are good for a very useful 30Nm, making this a very effective standard ratchet.

In the interests of science I applied 30Nm with the Elite Lite to an 8mm pedal socket, and it feels like a hell of a lot through such a short, narrow lever. As a get-out-of-walking-home tool, it’s great.
The ratcheting head is high quality. It has 60 points of engagement, meaning each click gives only six degrees of movement. This is great in restricted spaces such as bottle cages or inside frames. The head also has a prominent knurled edge that spins easily by hand, with or without gloves on.

The torque reading is shown on a wee circular scale that’s marked in half-Newton metre increments. You zero the dial by turning the dial – it’s never more than 0.5Nm either way at rest, so even if you forget you’re unlikely to have an issue. In fact, you’re more likely to introduce errors by using a lubricant, an anti-seize compound, threadlock or whatever else than you are by not resetting the scale.

The Elite Lite comes in a nice zipped and padded wallet, though while it fits in a jersey pocket it typically pokes out a bit. One oversight is a lack of markings in the wallet, leaving you to squint at the tiny stamped size markings on the bits. You get twelve: Philips PH1, Torx 10, 20, 25 and 30, and Hex 2, 2.5, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 8mm. That covers pretty much everything up to and including pedals.
Value
At £90 this is pretty expensive for a portable tool, though not that expensive compared to dedicated, good-quality torque wrenches.
The Topeak Ratchet Rocket NTX+ multitool, for instance, includes a ratchet, 11 bits, a torque wrench and a chainbreaker for £74.99. The TorqBit only goes from 2-6Nm, though, so it’s limited to cockpits, saddles and the smaller fasteners.
Prestacycle’s biggest competition is, perhaps, itself. The Prestacycle Pro Wallet features a very similar device, and although it only covers 2-10Nm it still comes with 12 bits (and a wallet) and is £49. I found the Pro’s high-contrast white on red very easy to read in my review, especially in low light. It’s worse for spotting increments between whole-numbers, mind.
If you need the 12Nm upper limit and don’t mind a 3Nm lower limit (and only nine bits), the newest version of the Go Lite is £64.
Overall
I’ve been using my Feedback Sports Range – the same design as this Elite Lite – for seven years in my workshop. It’s done literally thousands of jobs, and it’s still as accurate as it was on day one. I test my torque tools every six months against two ‘gold standard’ tools I never use for any other purpose, so I’m confident that when Prestacycle claims these never need calibration, they’re correct.
If you are looking for pocketable, wide-ranging torque ratchet that also functions as a normal and very tough ratchet (something most torque wrenches absolutely won’t do, this is a great option. Though far from being the cheapest, the Elite Lite delivers the widest performance of Prestacycle’s range, and with the most detailed, granular scale.

How does the price compare to that of similar products in the market, including ones recently tested?:
The Elite Lite is towards the upper end of its market. There are plenty of cheaper portable torque wrenches, but none that match the capabilities of this one.

This has a really usefully wide measuring range, and the way it doubles as a very strong ratchet is genuinely useful too. It’s not cheap, especially if measured against only slightly less capable tools, but against those that can actually match it the price is fair. There’s little to dislike.
