The Leatt MTB Enduro 4.0 jersey, as the name suggests, is aimed at gravity-assisted enduro riding, and whilst it seems like a simple offering, it proves to be exactly what you need. The IceYarn fabric manages moisture and heat well whilst being cut into a comfortable, relaxed fit. A little thick for a summer jersey, the other seasons will have you reaching for this jersey every time. For the money, it’s a great performing offering and hard to overlook.

Leatt MTB Enduro 4.0 jersey – Technical Details
The Leatt MTB Enduro 4.0 jersey is constructed using IceYarn fabric, which has a bunch of claimed benefits. Compared to functional polyester and cotton, it outperforms these in UV protection, fast drying and odour control. This fabric is also great for the environment, being 100% recycled and manufactured from coffee grounds. Overlock stitching has been used throughout, which provides stronger and more durable joints whilst also giving a softer seam for increased comfort.

When it comes to the fit, Leatt has used a “regular” fit for comfort and a relaxed riding experience. The material has plenty of stretch to it, making it suitable with and without body armour, whilst the neck opening has been shaped to work with or without a neck brace.

The material is already claimed to help with wicking and fast drying, but there are also ventilation holes in the front of the shoulders, neck and armpits to aid airflow. A large microfibre goggle wipe has been incorporated into the back left lower hem to keep your lenses clean and dry.

The jersey is available in eight sizes ranging from XS – 3XL, and there are four colourways (teal, cream, rust and black) to choose from, so there should be a size and style to suit all.
Leatt MTB Enduro 4.0 jersey – Performance
First impressions were from the IceYarn fabric, which has a quality feel to it, soft and with a little weight to it. The fit from the recommended size large was exactly as described, a relaxed fit which is shaped but not hugging. The arm length is perfect, and the torso is long enough to comfortably wear tucked in or not. All the internal seams are comfortable with no scratchy or protruding edges.

Out on the trails, the jersey does exactly what it needs to; at no point have I felt any restriction or discomfort. The material is slightly on the thicker side compared to a lightweight summer jersey, so this jersey is best suited to the shoulder seasons and as a winter layer. The material does a good job of breathing; it wicks sweat and dries quickly, keeping things comfortable and manages to not be clingy when the moisture levels rise.

The goggle/lens wipe is a generous size and generally stays out of the line of fire from mud and moisture, however, you do only get a couple of wipes before it becomes less effective. I’ve had no issues whilst washing the jersey, it has remained stain-free and still looks like new.
Leatt MTB Enduro 4.0 jersey – Verdict
At £65, the Leatt MTB Enduro 4.0 jersey offers great value for money considering the performance, quality and excellent fit on offer.
A high-quality option which is ideal for the shoulder seasons and winter could be the Mons Royale Tarn Merion Shift Wind jersey. It has a good fit, some fancy merino fabric and a wind-stopping front, however, at £100, it’s pricey.
Another option is the DHaRCO Men’s Race Jersery which comes in at a more respectable £77. It was praised for its breathability and effective moisture wicking, however, the sizing was a little off, so best to try before you buy.
The Leatt MTB Enduro 4.0 jersey is, on the face of it, a simple jersey, however, it has proven to be exactly what you need for gravity-assisted riding. The IceYarn fabric does a good job of regulating heat and moisture, and the fit is spot on. Whilst it’s not thin enough to be a summer jersey, it works perfectly for the shoulder seasons and as a winter layer. For the money, it’s a strong offering which certainly cannot be overlooked when hunting for your next jersey.
