The Cube AM women’s round neck jersey is a stylish long sleeve top that’s super soft and comfy against the skin, yet relatively robust too. It’s a massive leap in the right direction for the bike brand – subtly branded and not lacking in the performance department. 

With just a nod to Cube branding on the upper right sleeve, the AM (All Mountain) jersey won’t look out of place no matter what brand of bike you ride. 

Made from a relatively light material, the jersey is quick drying and cool to wear. It’s a really light and soft fabric that’s comfy against the skin, and it works well over a baselayer on colder days too, though it does tend to sag a little when really muddy or sodden.

Without waiting until summer to test, I’d say this jersey is best for warmer spring and autumn days, or proper hot ones where you want a little sun protection.

Elsewhere there are mesh inserts under each arm to aid breathability, and Cube has paid attention to shoulder seams, leaving nothing there to rub whilst wearing a backpack. The neckline is detailed without being fussy and there’s a hanging loop in the back, which is a nice detail – if a little unnecessary. 

The arms are a good length, with a cuff that that grips if you need to push the sleeves up to the elbows. Cube says there are reflective details on the arms and chest, but they’re small and not that useful.

The body is on the longer side of things, and the rear is dropped too. It’s worth noting I’m a dress size 8/10 and wore a size small, in which there was plenty of room for underlayers. It sizes up fairly roomy; I could have opted for an XS if I’d wanted something more fitted.

At £52.99, the Cube AM WS isn’t exactly cheap, especially when you consider that a premium-branded jersey like the Troy Lee Designs Skyline – very similar in fit and function – is £60. That said, there are plenty of short-sleeved jerseys out there for £50, which makes this long-sleeve Cube offering seem more reasonable. 

Fashionability aside, the Cube jersey is a good all rounder for hot days and also cooler ones if worn with a base layer. It washes well and has come through harsh conditions unscathed. And lastly, if you aren’t a fan of this ‘coral’ colour, there are black or light blue options instead.
