Throughout its multi-year tenure on the UK’s enduro race scene, the EX Enduro has achieved royalty-like status. Now considered a bucket-list event for mountain bikers from far and wide, the Merida EX Enduro is back for 2025 and evolving.

The EX Enduro needs no introduction. Now considered one of the UK’s premier enduro events, it’s carved its face into the Mount Rushmore of grassroots enduro owing to its unique format. It’s a three-day multi-stage race that takes riders over 110km of the finest trails that the South West has to offer. There are a full 20 special stages for riders to sink their teeth into, and that includes three night stages sponsored by Exposure Lights.
As always, it’s a small event, inviting just 80 riders to take part which gives the event an intimate feel while keeping trail traffic low.
New for 2025, the EX Enduro is introducing a pairs category, inspired by Alps-based races such as Enduro2. Designed to make the event even more social, the pairs category will have two riders, male, female or mixed who will combine forces to achieve the fastest time. It sounds simple, but there’s a catch – the stage time will be taken when both riders cross the line so there will be a strategic teamwork element thrown in.
The Merida EX Enduro will once again be held in a small village named Allerford, situated between Minehead and Porlock. On Friday night after the racing, a barbeque will be hosted, and there will be plenty of beer to get stuck into.
