Last call for LCC's London Cycling Awards nominations

It's cutting it fine but if you know of a London cycling project, campaigner, or cycling event deserving of recognition there is still time (just) to put them forward for the London Cycling Awards.

Nominations close at Midnight tonight and as well as the usual popular categories for the best events, community projects, young people’s projects, workplace initiatives and best cycling facility a new category, Local Campaigner of the Year has also been added as a way of recognising those who have contributed significantly to the promotion of cycling through local campaigning and event organisation.

Anyone can send in a nomination and self nominations by groups or organizations are welcome. Just remember to follow the simple instructions before sending in your nominations. Projects should have been initiated or completed since April 2010. Events must have taken place after 1 April 2010.

Last year's winners were Tower Hamlets Cycling Club, Friday Night Ride to the Coast, Barclay's Cycle Hire, and the Recycle Project.
 
The categories this year are:
 
• Local Campaigner of the Year
• London Cycle Event of the Year
• Community Cycling Project of the Year
• Best Project for Children or Young People
• Best New Cycling Facility
• Best Workplace Cycling Initiative
 
Details on how to submit a nomination can be found on LCC’s website www.lcc.org.uk. The deadline for nominations is midnight on Monday 10th October 2011.
 
The awards will be presented at LCC’s AGM on 16 November 2011
