Dame Sarah Storey is offering cycling fans the chance to own bikes formerly belonging to Olympic Champions Joanna Rowsell Shand and Katie Archibald.
Britain’s most decorated Paralympian sold her 2015 race bike last week, but is advertising Podium Ambition teammates Archibald’s and Rowsell Shand’s medium size Helium SL full carbon road bikes with a Shimano 105 / Ultegra mix group set for sale for £792.
For a little less money you could also buy a rear Time Trial disc wheel from Storey for £720, a 10 or 11 speed compatible Pro-lite in “great condition”.
Boardman becomes official bike supplier for Podium Ambition as team looks to gain Women’s WorldTour status
Storey says: “Inspired by the cycling in Rio? My race bike is sold but in size medium there is the former bike of Katie Archibald or Joanna Rowsell Shand.
She says: “It's built with Shimano 105/Ultegra mix & FSA carbon 50/34 crankset. 105 components: brakes & brake levers; Ultegra components: front mech, rear mech; Shimano 11speed chain; C35 or C50 Dura Ace tubular race wheelset options available at extra cost."
It’s not every day you get to buy an Olympic champion’s bike. Storey and her Podium Ambition teammates now ride Boardman Elite bikes, with Boardman one of the team sponsors. The team’s sister club, the Boot out Breast Cancer Cycling Club, is open to the public to join.
Storey is competing in this year’s Paralympics, which starts on 7 September, on both the track and the road. She competes as a C5 athlete in the following events:
- 8th September; Track: Individual Pursuit (C4/C5 race)
- 10th September; Track: 500m Time Trial (C4/C5 race)
- 14 September; Road: Time Trial, 20km, two laps on a 10km course (C5 race)
- 17th September; Road: Road Race, 75km (C4/C5 race)
To date Storey has won 22 medals, including 11 gold in swimming and cycling, across six Paralympic Games. She is a 27-time World Champion (five times in swimming and 22 in cycling), and has won national and international gold medals in able bodied events.
She’s asked anyone interested in the bikes to contact teamstoreysport [at] hotmail.co.uk.

Down with this sort of thing!...
I'm sorry I don't accept that the majority of cyclists are 'psychopaths'. There are some 'nutters' out there - but I would hazard a guess that most...

Here's my cycling related Christmas gift. Beautiful enamel garage sign to go above my Campagnolo Super Record RS equipped Colnago.
