2x2 Worldwide Race frame weight.

Me and my club mates were discussing where i could loose some weight on my bike and have been trying to estimate what my 2x2 Worldwide race frame weighs. I know the weight of the total bike (11.9kg)and We have broken down the various components Groupset 2300, wheelset and finishing kit and we had a rough weight of 2.5kg - 3kg just for the frame. Does that sound right for a 2010 alloy 7005 frame or are we missing something?

I have spent the day taking bits off the bike and have worked out using factory weights etc that the frame weighs around 1.6kg i had to break down everything to get that number but now i know i can now decide of upgrades or new bike.

2.5-3kg is what a steel road frameset weighs. Clearly, you should transfer all your components across to a nice steel bike. That way, it would weigh the same, plus you'd be riding steel. Win-win!

Never heard of the brand.

Even a cheap alloy frame should be less than 2kg. I had a steel fork on a cheap giant and that weighed 1kg on its own. A carbon fork would save a fair chunk of weight if you don't already have one, and should be comfier too.

Have you accounted for bar tape, cables, cable stops etc etc.

If its Shimano 2300, then I'd just get some better wheels which would then be transferable to a better bike. It wouldn't be worth putting 2300 on a better frame.
