iPhone holder

Try ebay guys, there's plenty there and low cost too, when I went on the Garmin Rideout a few years ago a speaker there said that best place for aero is just behind the handlebars on the top bar, just bought a new one from ebay but haven't fitted yet!

I am in the market for something similar (for my 5s) but haven't seen any carrier I feel comfortable that would both protect my phone (from rain and impacts) and let me use it. I was thinking of a Wahoo RFLKT (leaving the iPhone safely in a bag in my rear pocket). There was a review of this but I am interested in any long term user feedback.

If it's only occasional - just keep it in your back pocket. Sandwich bag and it's sweat proof too.

For the last 6 months I've been using a Quadlock + poncho for long rides/navigation, and a combo of Finn mount (+ p0cpac case if wet) for around town / hire bikes. Works brilliantly on a Boris bike.

Noting that the Quadlock poncho is *not* 100% waterproof - it's OK for a shower, but not in sustained wet. For that, Quadlock recommend the Lifeproof cases, with one of their universal mounts stuck on the back.

I use the topeak Drybag too. The attachment thingy fits on the stem or the bars. Different models for each iphone (and non apple phones too). I do find the way the sleeve rolls at the top makes it difficult to use the top button - you can enable the accessibility on-screen virtual button feature though, so 3 clicks brings it up at start of case use.

Camera works fine through the case.

The Ridecase is different, not weatherproof, iirc?

Another Topeak Ridecase user here - iPhone 4 and now a 5 - not had any issues with premature ejection, and the case gives a degree of drop protection when not on the bike. Stem cap mount keeps the 'bars free and plenty of adjustment/alignment options. Happy to recommend one.
Waiting for the release of a 6 mount (?Jan) before I upgrade to a new 'phone.

Topeak bags work fine.....unless you're worried about how beautiful everything looks on your bars . Pouring rain and at least one wipe-out; iPhone was absolutely fine.

If you're only using it occasionally, don't splash out.

Not the cheapest*, but it's a well-engineered and very solid solution, much classier-looking than those bags are too.

*you can usually save something like 15% or 20% by subscribing to their email too, you don't get spammed in return either.

That reminds me, I need to order myself a second mount ready for the new bike.

They're all as ugly as sin ... Keep the iPhone in your pocket and pop a little computer on the handlebars if you want to track distance and speed.
