Upgrade Bikes has issued a recall for three models of Racelight T carbon fibre forks sold between 2003 and 2009. They include the Full Carbon Racelight T, 12K Racelight T and Racelight T Full Carbon forks.

If you have a bike with one of these forks fitted, you’re advised to stop riding immediately and contact the retailer you bought the fork from, or contact Kinesis direct on 01403 711 611 opt 4, or info@upgradebikes.co.uk, for a replacement Kinesis DC07 fork.

– Around 1,750 potentially lethal Kinesis forks unaccounted for

The reason for the recall is due to bonding issues between the fork crown and fork steerer tube on Racelight T carbon forks sold between 2003-2009. You can tell if you have one of these forks if it has one of the logos in the photo below.

  • Racelight T Full Carbon – 2006
  • 12K Racelight T – 2007/2009
  • 12K – 2009
  • If your fork has any of the below features it isn’t subject to this recall:
  • Short Drop Brakes [39 – 51mm]
  • Tapered Steerer
  • Is full Carbon (no alloy parts)
  • Is full alloy fork
  • Has an alloy steerer tube
  • No mudguard eyelets
