    Yes down to one remaining

Yes down to one remaining transfer, I wasted some chasing the break the other day in an all or nothing attempt to try and make top 10.

Same as 11waterloo, the ITT looks made for GC climbers and a lottery to pick anyone else.

I didn’t see the start. Didn’t Carapaz have to chase the break down solo, that plus all the mountain points he collected, I guess.

I wasn’t expecting him to win it either.

    My latest gamble didn’t come

My latest gamble didn’t come off no

I was hoping Gee and Butriago would get some freedom in Stage 17 & 18 but the safe bet of Vingeggaard + 3.0 rider proved the better option.

    The profile was similar to

The profile was similar to Stage 11 and it was a hot day, so maybe they thought Pogacar would have problems today too. If so they are clutching at straws.

If they hope to win, stage 19 is the best option with all the climbs at altitude where Pogacar can have problems, although Vingegaard himsef did struggle at altitude on Stage 4.

Or maybe Vingeggaard was feeling bad and wanted helpers up the road because of that.

    What a crazy stage today.

    What a crazy stage today.

What were Jumbo Visma trying to do?

Only one of my team made the break which was a disappointment. As usual when I don’t pick Simon Yates he does well.

I was surprised not to see some of the lower GC riders not trying for the break.

I think the worst mistake I

I think the worst mistake I ever made was making my transfers after the deadline for a stage in the Tour of California.

The stage started a couple of hours earlier than the previous ones.

Yes, both stages likely to be

Yes, both stages likely to be for the break.

Probably a huge break on Stage 17, maybe with a couple of lower ranked GC riders in it.

Then a more selective break on Stage 18 with De Lie and others trying to chase it down from a bigger group.

I had that for a while too.

I had that for a while too.

Stages 17 & 18 are doing my head in.

Stage 18 looks quite difficult on the PCS profile but is actually a lot less difficult than I had anticipated.

    An expensive mistake for me

An expensive mistake for me the other day, I brought in Quinn , as I had Healy too, I couldn’t  get Carapaz into my team.

I hope the game continues for

I hope the game continues for quite some time yet.

It is remarkably challenging to do well over a season. It took me some years to become competitive, finally competing to come 2nd behind Mountain Renegade in the Standard competition and actually winning Purist one year.

I then quit the game during covid and only came back again last year and it has taken me some time to re-learn how to play the game competitively. Or maybe I am having a lucky blip over the last few races.

One thing missing from the earlier years is the banter, but without Dr Winston it may be difficult.

Keep up the good work with the best fantasy cycling game out there.

    I was asking the wrong

I was asking the wrong question.

It should have been “who to put in instead of Groenewegen?” .

Yes, I saw you had Jacobsen

Yes, I saw you had Jacobsen in to collect last rider points.

As he pulled out today it has worked out OK for you.

I also expected Healy to get most combatitive yesterday.

    Scoring Stage 11

    Scoring Stage 11

    Shouldn’t Pogacar be on 71 points ?

    Mountain points = 10+5+1

    Stage = 30

    GC = 10

    Mountains Classification = 5

    Combatitive 10

It looks like the final two ‘mountains’ haven’t been scored for anyone.
