Having missed Sagan’s illness a couple of weeks ago I’ve ditched both of Naesen and Gilbert who’ve both reported sick this week….Gonna hurt me isn’t it?
I considered swapping them out but decided against it.
Not convinced how ill Gilbert actually was, and both are as likely as anyone to finish top 10, even if not quite 100%.
Both seemed iffy. Naesen claiming he needed anti biotics immediately after his last race due to being sprayed by champagne seemed a strange one.
Terpstra down and out is a blow…
It looks like both have missed out on the front group. I haven’t seen them at all recently.
It is likely to be wet early
It is likely to be wet early in the week too, which always seems to play a part in Itzulia. It could come down to taking risks on a wet descent in the ITT.
Movistar are likely to be playing catch up after the ITT, which could make it interesting and Astana have a very strong team and are always likely to make things crazy. I’m really looking forard to this race.

Can’t have them all.What are are your thoughts on Sagan?…hardly been pulling any trees up lately… Do you think he’s struggling to get it back together again after his illness (didn’t actually see his last race)…
Sagan has been at the front in a few races but seems to have lacked punch at the finish.
He has taken a different approach this season, aiming to maintain form for LBL, perhaps this is affecting him.
I had VdP today but decided to drop Rowe rather than Langeveld.
Missed it all due to Mother’s Day stuff. I doubt my riders did enough to keep me on top. I thought Impey would have enjoyed today…not to be…He was working to set up the Yates attack.
Poor day for me really. Didn’t see any of the actual races due to Mother’s Day stuff.So many great riders and not much to pick between them. My mistake was going with Viviani…he’s obviously fantastic but just feels wrong for these races…..i’m scared of not having him.

I have made the mistake of not clicking the confim transfers button on a couple of occasions.
Pity there weren’t a couple
Pity there weren’t a couple less riders in the break.
I had half my team in the front group, then 3 of the 5 in the smaller lead goup.
Not too bad at the end of the day, Degenkolb came home 2nd.
With 51 transfers left for the remaining races hopefully I can work my way up the leaderboard.

The chances of Schachmann doing that again two day running are fairly slim..so he’s more likely to be fighting in the peleton for just a reasonable finish….but then again…maybe he will do it again.
I had Gibbons, Matthews, Impey lined up for these stages but lost a trnasfer with Rosskopf dropping out (I probably should have left him in) and missed out on Gibbons.

I was planning to bring in Stybar and Keukeliere but didn’t get around to it (I forgot).
Dan Martin on the other hand is a winner but also somebody who shows his hand too soon sometimes and sinks…not today though….although he did nearly fall off the back a couple of times.I couldn’t believe when Dan Martin launched an attack as soon as he caught the leaders & then went on to be the 1st to attack in the finale.
If he had waited for Yates or Bernal to go he could have won.
I’m coming to the conclusion Quintana is exceptionally stupid and can’t do anything unless the DS tells him too.
Today all he did was mark Bernal, when Yates attacked he did nothing and left it to Bernal to chase Yates down.
The other year he did something similar with Contador, he was just making sure Contador didn’t get away and let about 10 other riders go up the road.
Happy to see Cuadros in the break again. Seemed risky dropping both of Schachmann and De Gendt…but well…9th for this game (won it last year) and no point replicating those above me. Hopefully Schachmann won’t find anything extra today. Taken care to arrange the furniture so that TDG and/or Matthews are an easy swap back in.Cuadros was my second choice behind Rosskopf 🙁

He looked to have no trouble following Bernal but didn’t make any attempt to attack at all.
