Tony, less certs for me, but I am getting a lot of slow page loading and 504 and 505 bad gateway things coming up.  Don’t know if it’s just me or something your end.

I might have done close to

I might have done close to the the imperial century, or might even have done it, no computer, but I definitely found the the there and back again on the Basingstoke Canal was a frustrating 99.5+km, now I know that I definitely did the metric century that day, with a bit of to and fro to get to the canal but still.  Grrrr.

You look at the occasional maker posts and they go up and up and never quite get to 50.

Well done to you and your squad.  A week previous and the weather would have been lovely.  Some heavy showers in there and autumn chills starting.

Mike, a couple of weeks ago I

Mike, a couple of weeks ago I was doing a 25 mile off road loop around Henley, on my new bike, it’s hedge trimming time,  I was pulling out multiple thorns and even a small twig.  All sealed quickly.  Checked and more thorns the next day.  One huge one that took a couple of minutes to seal and I was even looking forward to shoving in one of those anchovy things in there.  Now normally I would take out 2 spare tubes on my older bikes, and my mini track pump, so it would have been a disapointing session of pumping and fixing several tubes.  With a curtailed fun day out, and much less grinning and smugness.  I’m sold, though I will not get my other bikes converted.

Orange Endurance Seal I think, 4-6 months and still sealing.  Stuck in a top up squirt the other day.

And I’m playing with quite low pressures, so would have probably snake bited a few times by now.

    Paul’s Components make the

Paul’s Components make the Klamper, which is probably as good as mechanical disks can get, teamed up with compressionless cables, Nokons or Avids.  Can’t be bad.  Bit pricey mind.

I found that the Continental Winter Contact tyres worked very well after most of the leaves had gone, on wet and especially frosted roads.  I have not tried the Winter Contact II, but they do look interesting.

    Good.

    Good.

But they do not cause “accidents”.

Be very sneaky, it’s endemic, and this could at least make the phone addicts think twice.  Do it anyway and then get banned.

Well done HP for digging it up.  I see it far too much, and it’s so very dangerous.

He will drive again, and do it whilst banned.  He cannot help himself.  Wether he gets caught or not, who knows.  If it’s in the next two years he might go to prison, but there are some chances he won’t.

And they say that cyclists feel self entitled.

Someone needs to give him a second hand bicycle.

I do not twitter or any social media, unless you count this little group, if you click on the XX people are talking about this or any pictures and stuff, you can see the thread, and delve deeper if you want, I’m not signed up.

Careful though, you can waste more time than on this site.

I used worn our skate style

I used worn our skate style shoes for many years (Vans mostly) then pushed the boat out and got some Five Tens, the grip on the pedals is stunning.  I went for the Spitfire as it wasn’t quite as ugly as most of them, but fabric front so lets in moisture.  They have lasted many years and are gradually falling to bits but still work.  Five Tens really work.

I could do with a new pair and am tempted by the Ion Raid Select, horrible front bumper, but full tan leather.

I didn’t know they still made

I didn’t know they still made Magura hydraulic rim brakes anymore.  They were very impressive in the early 90s.  Them with ceramic/carbide specific pads and a ceramic/carbide rim and that’s magnifecent braking.

My good bike has ceramic rims, but with XTR Vs and Nokon cableing.  Ti brake booster too, I do have the Shimano carbon booster, but don’t seem to want it on enough to bother fitting it.  My new bike has good Hope disks, I can’t seem to figure out if they really are much better.
