Put together the schedule for this and ready to go with the first few races, fingers crossed. Subsequent race distances, profiles and deadlines will be added in in due course.
Tricky thing will be the values. Hopefully the defunct Spring comp didn’t mess too much up. Maybe only those riders who were down on the start list. Lesson learned for the coming months to remove all riders from a start list if a race is cancelled.

I’ve basically been playing

I’ve basically been playing this as a six-riders-per-race competition to save transfers.  But the way they’re going in that area I wonder how far we’re going to get… I’m expecting at least one or two won’t happen.

Not sticking to PCS for

Not sticking to PCS for results ever, just a confirmation really. I always go by the official websites, even when those websites are crap (BinckBank). I was scouring Twitter and official lines yesterday for more solid updates. Would you rather I waited until the last moment and only updated once? I can do that, it’s just that might be the night before in a lot of cases for the classics.

Don’t know what you mean with a backdoor link into the UCI, I go on the UCI website occasionally if results are not great anywhere else.

I hope I know this…Considering I’m not only a fantasy manager, but I also work in pro cycling, including being a DS, that is why I had to give up scoring and managing the game here.

I’m maybe just a bit out of touch, but before, provisional weren’t really used, final start lists are normally available through the official race streams for media people. If you are sticking to PCS for startlists and results, that isn’t great, do you have the backdoor link into the UCI results that I used to share with other scorers every season??

Well they released a provisional start list yesterday and many rosters weren’t confirmed until today. Do you check PCS for a final confirmed start list? You know some races aren’t confirmed until the last moment right?

Getting totally hammered with

Getting totally hammered with transfers here, 1, there are too many races lumped into one comp and 2, startlists being updated and then totally changed the next day is costing a lot. Just cost me 4 transfers since late last night.

Yes, I have got a bit of paper with my proposed number of transfers for each race scribbled on! If later races in the series get called off then this ‘saving for a rainy day/Roubaix’ strategy will have failed. Would it be worth taking five transfers off for any race that gets pulled? Not sure if it’s even possible, but would keep things more balanced.

I dialled reeled a couple of

I dialled reeled a couple of transfers back in for this one and just went with six riders. The game has seen us eating transfers so far. I think my two extra picks would only have got me about 15pts so not too much damage done. I fancy rosters will continue to change quite a bit.

It’s different for this

It’s different for this competition because it’s all the Spring and Autumn races rolled into one comp. Usually you’d have early Italian classics followed by a big block of cobbles and then the Ardennes. It’ll become more like that soon with Ardennes block starting at the end of September and the cobbles after that. So it should become more managable.

This race was a pain. Two teams hadn’t decided they didn’t want to show up until last night and I didn’t have a final start list until gone 10pm. Guess it’s just an effect of a condensed calendar.

The constant rosta changes in

The constant roster changes in this series of races is a real pain  when trying to plan any strategy. Had left Bouhani & Bettiol in as lame ducks in the last few races so they could re-emerge blinking into the spotlight today only to have them both withdraw late on! Must also be a nuisance for you administrators getting the correct riders into the game. It feels like you are choosing a totally new team for each race rather than evolving a team like you do in the stage races…..

Took the risk of taking out

Took the risk of taking out both of MVDP and WVA today and risk them just being along for the ride between Strade Bianche and Milan San Remo. Imagine my joy when the commentators thought they would do the same during the mid race chatter.

Yeah, it gets updated. PCS have a start list but only CCC with a tick against them….so maybe we’re waiting for more confirmations. If you tick the show all riders box on the transfers page you can see the other riders….the values don’t usually change…or maybe they will with the Coronavirus break…dunno.
