    Yeah…. finally a GT.

Should be interesting. Not the strongest line up we’ll ever see but that might be a great chance for the under card….

    oh… and that road through

oh… and that road through Banks and beyond is a great road for cycling… like many parts of W Lancs completely wind blown… and tough…really tough at times.

Yes it was. The two car boots around Chorley have also shut down due to Covid… Bloody thing.

Yes, I ended up almost having

Yes, I ended up almost having too many transfers and made changes just to use them up, when I would have been better sticking with what I had. Never quite got the GC/breakaway balance right towards the end. At least we are in stage race season now so can look forward to the next one.

    Thanks guys.

    Thanks guys.

Ironically, if I hadn’t noticed Almeida dropping out b4 the “sprint” stage, I’d have had 5 transfers left for the TT (I was planning to add Tulett and Cort as well) which might have put Tony under a bit more pressure in the overall but can’t grumble.

@Waterloo:  I think you were really unlucky in the second week.  You could have scored a lot more points with those transfers, which let us back in.

My “attacking” game style definitely suits races like the Giro more than say the Tour.  The strategy of using more transfers early then stacking your team with GC and KOM riders works better at other races IMO.

Not a game thing, been very impressed by the advertising inflatables in the last few kms, highlights for me, the combine harvester being a personal favourite. I also like the huge pink off road tyre, presumably a tyre manufacturer, but who?

That car boot was to be

That car boot was massive a few years ago. Used to cycle past it regularly but I guess it’s a victim of Covid. The music next to the pier is an oddity. I imagine the cafe must pay the performers but it only seems to attract  a handful of spectators whenever I have gone past. It is nice to hear a few Beatles covers drifting down the promenade though!

Brill…thanks… I only really went to go to the car bootie at Banks but it turns out it’s closed down. When i left it was brilliant sunshine over Southport but dull as dishwater over Preston… so off i went. I just sat and watched a good oldies band next to the pier.

Congratulations, you played a blinder there and won comfortably in the end. I got a nosebleed after leading at halfway and having loads of transfers in the bank. Just kept getting it wrong – had all the right riders but never in the right stage!

    Some brilliant scores from

Some brilliant scores from you boys over the Giro. I bottled it completely

Also did the final scores after several beers so do let me know if I’ve been an idiot in the soring.

Cheers to Dave for holding the fort last weekend when I was away. Dauphine next week and Suisse the week after. We roll on!

    I noticed you and Tony

I noticed you and Tony (almost) had exactly the same team/scores.  I had a feeling the Cima Coppi would bring out a couple of Italians…
