I’ve opened comp. There will no doubt be rider changes. Suter will appear after Romandie (team change required).

Pretty mouldy field really. Some of the week long races has been way better represented.

    went with Ciccone and Vlasov

went with Ciccone and Vlasov as only two changes today, Ciccone looked good but did not bring home many points unfortunately….

I prepped for the next two

I prepped for the next two sprints.  Could turn out to be a good choice but didn’t make for a good result today.  All the signs from today’s stage were good for my purist team though.  Will be boring waiting for the points to roll in.  If you decided not to pick Bernal then you should be worried at this point.  He is going to win the race.

It was potentially a big day.

It was potentially a big day. The summit just before the end could have ensured something close to 250pts maybe.
I think we have to accept Ineos won’t push the stages in the same way Pogacar and Roglic do….we may see more stages like this.

Good day to have a bad day. I really death kissed Vanhoucke and Champoissin, 20mins and 23mins behind leader respectively.

    Today was more about who

Today was more about who could handle the weather, rather than who could handle the climbs.

    Evenepoel saying this morning

Evenepoel saying this morning they were going safety first. Yates may also have a new opinion on racing hard too early in a GC.

I find it hard to think that Roglic or Pogacar would have allowed such a gap to open, or rather wanted to, which seemed to be the case today.

I shouldn’t have made any transfers, I should have known.

This could well be our lowest

This could well be our lowest scoring day of the season unless something changes, the big winners will be those who missed the deadline and bagged a couple of extra transfers.

    Went for two from Groenewagen

Went for two from Groenewagen/Merlier/Viviani and missed out Merlier! Also removing Evenepoel hurt me as he picked up a few extra points & went up on GC. Hoping my minimal transfer strategy will give me more wriggle room later on……..

    You know what, this system

You know what, this system isn’t a commissaires decision and seems to just award the stage winner again, so I’m going to take it out for the rest of the race.

Went thin for today for an avg day…just four transfers. Needed Ewan and Viviani to swap places. No matter…we plough on.

    The combativity award is

The combativity award is bizarre every year. It seems to be a points competition combining on stage events and the finish line. Can’t remember if we scored it last year, but today’s stage sees Merlier and Viviani tie on 6 points each.
