    Residents in Sittingbourne

Residents in Sittingbourne speak out about gridlock caused by A249 roadworks at Grovehurst and Stockbury roundabouts

Rachel King, co-owner of Body Care hair and beauty salon in School Lane, says she expects to lose valuable appointment time due to customers being late due to traffic.

She said: “The works are going to be a pain and it is a nightmare getting home.

“My clients who live in Iwade won’t be able to leave the village.”

The Medway resident added that she “wouldn’t want to live in the village because of traffic”.

Amy Attwood, a company director at Novia Limited, said her employees were “imprisoned” on the Eurolink estate in Kemsley, thanks to the multiple road closures.

    Here in France the farmers
Here in France the farmers used to do a similar type of demonstration blocking motorways while driving their tractors to Paris. Several people where killed by running into the back of the tractors. The people organising these demonstrations think they are being clever but they have no idea of the risk of having innocent people’s blood on their hands.

Vast rights but no duties, especially to others. This is no equation on which to base a civil society. In the end, rights are only created by others following their duties to allow and enable them. And to not-enable them when the rights demanded consist largely of actions obliterating the rights of everyone else.

But oligarchies aren’t concerned by civility but rather by dominance. There are the favoured few and the rest. Sometimes the rest can be fooled into thinking that they’re one of the favoured by being given a sop-right, such as, “Feel free to drive like a maniac”.

These foolish drivists feel that their vast drivist rights are protected so vote eagerly for their masters, despite the fact that the drivists too are being gassed slowly to death and may easily be car-squashed as they step from the voting station or anywhere else.

    Welcome to the Third World.

The law has been interpreted that the child is “accompanied as necessary”.

very few adults are going to walk 2 or 3 miles tot he school and 2 or 3 miles back again, so if the child must be accompanied then driving becomes default for those with a car.

The convoy is underway with between 30-40 vehicles involved

According to our reporter at the scene Phil Dewey, the protestors of the 20mph speed limit have met at Magor services. The convoy has just started.

There are “30-40” vehicles taking part – on the M4. Seems to all have passed off safely –  with extensive police involvement.

He said the speed had changed from 30mph to 40mph for safety reasons and added: “We don’t want your point to end with a crash”.

article builds the case for 20 mph limits

I tried to drive at 20mph around rural Huddersfield but at times it did not feel safe

Wales has introduced 20mph speed limit but how would drivers react to me driving at 20mph on local roads in Huddersfield?

“I soon found that sticking to 20mph isn’t straightforward and, on roads with higher speed limits, it probably isn’t safe to do so with the current laws because other drivers can become impatient.”

wait ’til you hear about cycling, Andrew

Amazon removes cones from Hampton Lovett Industrial Estate

But Mr Journalist, you haven’t mentioned the double yellow lines? I grant you that the cone placing we see is a bit random, but they must be a factor here?

PS if you drive up to where the lorry is now, there’s some sort of rest area, could even be an enclosure for “Amazon Flex” drivers. Looks delightful.

    Drivers protest the 20mph

Drivers protest the 20mph limit by …… driving at 20mph

“We are doing this due to the fact this 20mph is more dangerous than 30mph. There are people overtaking in 20mph zones doing more than 30mph, running red lights, the road rage that’s coming along with this is outrageous also.”

Lets see how many collision occur during the protest then. That should tell us how dangerous it is.
