Thought I’d open this one early. Forecast is rain and 75kph winds. Ouch.

    Split open.

Indeed. Hope the GC guys can all stay injury-free, at least stay in the race anyway. I had a quid each way on Tony Martin at 200/1 – fingers crossed!

2 Bretagne 3.0’s – Vachon and Gerard – hoping for something from one of them today…

Me too. 2 in and 2 transfers in the bank for later on. Didn’t see any point on going overboard on this stage.

Sectors 7 and 5 have been removed due to the weather, but the last 4 sectors towards the finish are still in. (Sector 1 is the one nearest the finish). Can’t wait – perfect day to be working from home!

    I hope it isn’t carnage.
I hope it isn’t carnage. That’s the risk obviously of putting a cobbled stage in, that weather will conspire to make it an absolute bloodbath.

I was tempted by a few guys here but in the end happy with the three I’ve made before we return to the sprints.

Wouldn’t be surprised if we lose a GC contender or two today, and even one or two of the more delicate sprinters (though not Kittel, who probably ate a bowl of cobbles for breakfast).

    Playing it fairly cagey with
Playing it fairly cagey with Cancellara and Vanmarcke in for Kittel and Renshaw (I’m sure a popular combination of transfers) – might make another one in the morning but might just save them up for a more predictable stage. Had a sneaky feeling about one rider in particular but he’s 200/1 so I have to assume the bookies know something I don’t! Or that I’m just totally wrong. Either way I’ve not taken the bait.
