Thought I’d open this one early. Forecast is rain and 75kph winds. Ouch.

    Split open.

    Hard to call: Cancellara, one
Hard to call: Cancellara, one of the Vans (Avaermaet sticks out being so high in GC), Sagan, Terpstra or Degenkolb.

I took Viviani and Renshaw out and put in Cancellara and Van Marcke, but it is really hard to call.

I have just noticed the similarity to 2010 for tomorrow and the day after. Doh
The cobble stage won by Hushvod, and Reims by Petacchi

Pity Thomas won’t be let of the leash. Out of the top 10 in 2010 only Thomas, Cancellara and Van summeren are around this year.

    2) Who is going to be shepherding a GC contender

    5) Which of the strong sprinters is going to be saving themselves for st 6
    6) How many transfers is it worth using for one stage
    7) Rider conditions after 4 stages

There is one easy question here, namely 5. Kittel will be the only sprinter saving himself, because apparently he’s committed to winning all sprint stages. For the rest this might be their only chance to beat him. Ohlala, poor tiny Coquard, each stone of the really bad sectors will probably feel like a small climb to him.

Seriously now, if the weather will be as predicted, then fantasy wise there is nothing complicated about it: regardless of who we pick, everything will be a matter of sheer luck. It will not be a matter of who falls and who doesn’t, but more a matter of how bad each of them falls and at what moment…

    Shit.

Well it’s not shit actually as I’ve made my two transfers on road.cc and three on Skoda.

    Quite a few contenders for
Quite a few contenders for this stage, I think. Experienced, tough, fast guys should be the picks, but there are quite a few of these types. Also, enough random stuff can happen so yeah, this could be a difficult stage. I’ve two transfers in the bank already, so I’m tempted to keep carrying those over and just making two changes.

    No Cancellara? :O

This could be a make or break
This could be a make or break stage for fantasy, just like it will be for the Tour. Back the cobblestone specialists or the versatile sprinters? Pick the wrong one and you could lose out on a lot of points.

Agreed, + a certain winner of Roubaix this year, those 4 will be my transfers anyway.
